Only if you crash, otherwise no one will know! :D

Exactly!

And it wouldn't matter then unless you survived.

Although engineering can access it but mine haven’t till now as far as I know.

Does the CVR not have a limited recording capacity before it records over again?

Yes it does. It is overwritten with each sector.

A bit of a sunset. Heaps better in real life and we aren’t exactly equiped for photography apart from what we have which is our phones and IPads which we use for our approach plates.

This one in Sydney waiting for start up and a massive delay as SY was down to the cross runway -1 runway. There were 11 aircraft lined up with planes coming in one after the other. Total chaos and delays all round.

Guy at the front is a marshaller that monitors our engine starts for smoke or fire and to ensure we don’t blast anyone. We have fire suppression in each engine.

Anyway I’ll leave it there for now unless anyone wants more - don’t want to bore anyone.

When we don’t fly as much we miss it. When we fly too much we whinge a lot. Probably because we get tired and drained but the reality is, we got it pretty dam good. We don’t work that much and we get a lot of time off to make even a public servant get envious.

I think what gets us is our overnights and early starts with min rest. A lot of time away from the family as well.

That was an Oil and Gas job for Exxon Mobil.

I always knew you were too stupid to sit in the Captain's seat. Only just able to occupy the right seat.

You should use Postimage for your photos. Makes it much easier to look at.

You won’t see images like the last one from Sydney or anywhere for a while.

These days, people are hiring cessnas and training establishments are conducting training flights in and out of Sydney.

Prior to COVID, you had to have a slot to get in - so only airlines, Medivac, military, and VIP Corporates.

Argh left seat for me thanks unless conducting line training for a Captain Upgrade. 8)

Or flying with another Captain in which case we alternate sector to sector.

We do 2 captains a lot because of some of the contract stipulations we have for Government, Oul and Gas, and dignitaries.

Line trainers get to sit in either seat dependant on whether we are line training an FO or an FO is doing Pilot In Command Under Supervision or we are training another Captain.

For instance, when we are carrying Shinzo Abe, we have 2 captains. Want to see a photo of Paphitis hanging with old mate Shinzo? 8)

We fly right seat on a regular basis.

When we are carrying people like Shinzo we have 2 captains. That is a Commonwealth requirement.

When we carry a PM (it happens but very rare), or doing other important jobs, we have 2 Captains. When we have PICUS, FO sits in the left.

When I get checked in the sim, I have to do half of it in the right because I have Line Training approval under CAR 247.

A normal line Captain can only sit in the left. Unless they are flying with another Captain then it’s sector by sector.
