It took me a fair bit of time and the hardest part was all the roof work and cabling. But once that was in place it wasn’t too bad. Setting up the metal was ok with all the YouTube help videos.

But I haven’t found one about tweaking. I still have some tweaking to do to get it running at peak performance.

I still have enough shelf space for my amplifiers as well. :D

Oh and I got some patch work to do as I moved the sockets to the left. Then I’m getting ready to paint.

So other things that will go in there are my amps and a UPS.

But that battle will be fought on another day.

Are you married? :D

I'm trying to find innovative, to stay out of Mrs Paphitis way.

I have never spent as much time home and already Mrs Paphitis is packing my bag ready to go for 3 nights in Melbourne. :? I feel so loved.

Anyway, I will be in COVID central for a few nights soon. Not allowed to leave the hotel room other than into a hire car to and from ANSETT Sim Centre. Quite dire.

Food is provided by the company to our door.

Melbourne isn't at its best atm.

Looking at the first image...

If this is a two-story house then you shouldn't have gone for PoEs... you should've had CAT6 cabling and outlets installed throughout.

If it's not a two-story house then what on Earth are those huge white boxes hanging on the ceiling? :)

I got outlets in every room with Cat 5 through a TP Link. but really will only use outlets for fixed point desktops, Smart Tvs and Home Theatre.

Everything else is wireless in our house.

That room is the new office on the second storey. Next to that is the theatre.

One is the NBN fibre optic Internet Service, and next to that is the NBN UPS with battery back up - but I haven't replaced the battery and it's virtually dead. I'm going to see if I can actually bypass the NBN supplied UPS with something better but haven't looked into it.

NBN = National Broadband Network. every house in Australia has one. Unless you are remote, and you need a Sat Dish.

8K projector onto a retracting screen, With roof and wall mounted surround sound, Blu Ray, BOSE Sound System. woofers and an amplifier system that is guaranteed to have the neighbors call the police. 8)

Real cinema style leather seats, bean bags for the kids, oh and a tread mill behind them.

Also a little kitchenette and bar and a bathroom and shower next to the office.

I am being told to paint the walls a very dark colour, but I am not keen on that. House is being painted white and I hate dark rooms. And installing carpet up there gtoo. Rest of the house is wooden floor boards. :?

The reason why I did the cabinet is to house everything in the one spot and to correctly and neatly arrange all my cabling and fix the spaghetti of cable I had everywhere.

With CCTV, TP Link/Fixed cabling, Weather Station, and now unifi Switch/Controller and Router, I had a lot of cables so it made sense to get organized. Plus the Amplifier is going in and some kind of UPS and Fan system.

After that, I am going to work out how to install a CBUS and automate the entire house. Automated lights, music, and whatever else I can think I can automate. if I can automate the toilet flush then I am going to figure it out. 8)

I can't help but think you've over-engineered this...

I have two houses in Pissouri with Mesh Networks (one Google, one Deco), they work brilliantly....

One of the houses (the Google Mesh WiFi one) is fully automated using Google Home devices and SwitchBots to control IR only units (the air conditioners). It is 95% wireless with just the Kyocera printer and QNAP NAS attached via cables to one of the Google Mesh WiFi devices... I can use voice (in every room) to control the heating, cooling, music streaming, video, air conditioners, ceiling fans and of course the lighting... :D

Almost everything is wireless (2.4 and 5GHz) including streamed music, video and the security cameras....
