There has been a Republican Governor in Texas since 1995 and as soon as there is a statewide freeze, the left gets the blame.

Ocean, you really have too much time on your hands to be chasing ghosts to blame the left for every fuckups the Republicans do.

"Those of you who have heard that frozen wind turbines are to blame for this, think again," tweeted Jesse Jenkins, engineering professor at Princeton University. "The extreme demand and thermal power plant outages are the principal cause."The numbers show that natural gas plants were the biggest cause of the power shortfall, not wind.

The state’s grid operator said Feb. 15 that about 34 gigawatts of power were offline. But of that, about 4 gigawatts was due to problems with wind turbines. The rest came mainly from the state’s primary sources, natural gas and coal.

Dan Woodfin, a senior director for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, told Bloomberg that frozen gauges and instruments at natural gas, coal and nuclear plants cut into operations. Natural gas-fired plants also had to deal with low gas pressure in their supply lines.

...profit over people, he says it too,

I like this guy.

...different electrical grid system, different mission, different result; it pays to compare Ocean.

In this case, if i was a Texan, i would not be happy, (in affect) having been taken advantage of (likely for decades) by the Leadership who assure their Energy Security.

...scoff at technology all you want; but the intentions count. What instincts are involved in a situation like this? We'll see if it boils down to looting and death because this may take weeks to fix; i don't think so, even where plunder is a way of living, (isn't that what "oil" is all about,) so too encoded in our DNA i'm supposing a sense more Human: with or without "technology". In any case Texans are better than plain ordinary Ignorance, (they will learn from this,) at least i hope so.

What the fuck does this article have anything to do with the left?

The world is changing to renewable clean energy and the right wants to keep burning fossil fuels.

No wonder the right is not progressive.

The left will get the blame when a tornado rips through the state next time.

Windmills are there because of their environmental nonsense... supposedly will save the planet

No, it is not to save the planet, it just to delays climate change, because there are too many ignorant people in the world who do dot understand the difference between climate change and global warming.

So, how do you like Texas, which is mainly a “desert” landscape turning into an ice cap for a while.

Oh gee, wonder what could have caused that?

It’s happened before many times... icy conditions in Texas is not an anomaly.. what is strange is that, any event that hasn’t been seen or remember from the past is all of a sudden due to global warming or climate change.. the scientific models do not show either global warming or climate change.. science shows that the climate has cycles and that we are beginning a cycle that’s different from the one before

...as i said, the threat to the electric infrastructure has been ignored for years, in Texas; for more profit.

What has that got to do with Climate change? Nothing except that it is being used to deflect any questions about corruption.

...Mr. Cruz, being a "good dad" is icing on the cake, for Texans freezing, in this cold.

Who doesn't prefer Cancun to freezing Mexico? Besides, he wanted to go there to be a good dad! One should not blame his priorities.
