I keep seeing articles about how a digital yuan could threaten the USD status as global reserve currency. Seems to me the more sovereign national fiat currencies seek to compete and fight for global reserve status by 'going digital', the more obvious it becomes that BTC is the better choice for a global reserve currency ? Imagine global oil sales denominated in a currency that not only no single government controls (and can inflate) but one that no single entity controls and will never inflate past a set point.

Erolz exposed?????

I can't post the article unfortunately, as it's pay-walled and my stalker would undoubtedly pounce.

Bitcoin Dips as Turkey Bans Crypto Payments.

Not the first government to try something like this and no doubt it will not be last but can they actually stop this with national legislation? Like trying to stop the internet - not an easy thing to do it seems to me ?

Turkey is a special case because Erdogan and his gang of thieves can steal and hide hard currency into foreign banks, but perhaps not so easy with Crypto currencies.

In any case, there are seems to be some profit takings happening in the Crypto currencies. Expected really, in “harvesting” some gains after a big gains in short time.

It goes to show that there’s no such thing as a virtual currency that is out of the control of governments.

Anything a government doesn’t like they declare as illegal and that’s the end of that!

Sure, you can exchange binary numbers on the Internet but when the time comes to cash out, you’ll have to use “their” banks and that’s where governments have you by the balls!

If enough countries follow suit it’s bye-bye bitcoin and some individuals will be stuck with lots of binary numbers sitting on their hard disk and no money in their pockets.

A quick search revealed that crypto currencies have already been banned in the following countries...

Ecuador, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Nepal, Taiwan, Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Vanuatu, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Vietnam, N.Macedonia, Algeria, and now Turkey.

I expect this list to grow every year because the bottom line for governments, is…

“What I cannot control you can’t have!”
