The last time this was the case, was it not also the case that those trying to foster such co operation were themselves attacked by elements within their own respective communities ?

Yep, people were killed for this or made to run away to exile to save their lives.

Maybe three is the lucky charm.

It comes to mind AKEL's venture, in getting elected a Turkish Cypriot as an MEP.

...at some point, the People, those Cypriot, will identify their own distinctions when compared to those who see themselves divided as "Greeks" and "Turks".

...at some point they will choose willful acts to demonstrate the distinction, as Cypriots, gathering.

...let's not forget that what the "Greeks" and "Turks" will have you ignore, is that their so called few and insignificant body they deride called Cypriots as non-existent, actually represent more than half the voting population (still), now decades and unnaturally divided.

Workers, all workers stand to gain as union members from this perspective, standing together; so too Cypriots, and for their Individual Rights.

...this (too) is one of those moments where, as Cypriots, Cypriots speak.

(SEK may be PEO but I am not sure). It was also mentioned to me that the union has more power placing workers in jobs than the government. How that works perhaps somebody can explain.

It will be mainly Tourism (65%), Restaurant and Construction workers.

I think this is the first time there is cross membership between the communities.

I know we’re already maxed out employment-wise so I have no idea what Nicos is on about... so I have to conclude that this is nothing short of a GC scam to collect 8,000 new membership fees in return for a hollow promise!

Nicos, is an A-class con artist who thought nothing of stealing billions from his own citizens’ bank accounts to fund the start of his presidential tenure and you think he wants to help TCs who have never paid a cent to the RoC?

Oh ok then.

Today is Friday where I do my pretend prayers before attending my other pretend prayers on Sunday, so I decided to be helpful to you.

Here is the sentence that makes a difference. If you need me to explain it to you by all means ask. Although I cannot guarantee what kind of an answer you is going to get from me as my patience is running out for you child.

There has been an agreement between Turk-Sen and SEK to register 8,000 young original TC workers as union members in the south so they can get employment and be protected by the union

Out of nowhere, I'm seeing 8000 x €30 = €240,000 going into the syndicate's kitty!

Funny you should mention the TC MEP, I met him a few weeks ago when he was in London.

...i think this is another step toward fielding a candidate in the next Presidential election which has support from all Cypriots, not just the constituency that is their origin.

If this effort has been carefully organised, it will demonstrate that the Labour Unions in Cyprus can improve the quality of labour and the quality of work. Big business, hoteliers, developers, and manufacturers, need unionised labour as a matter of fact, provided that Unions are a force which provides workers well skilled as a factor of production.

...a big step for Cypriots; they just don't know it yet.

These are jobs for which they used to import ex Eastern Europeans each on private contract. Generally nobody joins a Trade Union working on minimum salary.
