Now we as a people have the power in a decorcasy to select our local authorities, and MPs. They in turn select the ministers and the PM. This is democracy in life.

And yet we work at least 5 days of our life in an office, shop or a factory or where ever and as soon as we walk in the premises, we have no rights at all. Nothing about what profits have been made in the company, what are the expenses and who claimed them for what and if there is any profit how should it be distributed. How can we call this democracy? Is really putting an X on a piece of paper for a person who will do what ever they please once in parliament for the next 5 years a democracy befitting the 21st century?

People do have rights in the workplace Bordo,

If we weren't working 5 days per week, we would be working 7. Most of us would have to wake up every day and search for our next meal.

if we didnt have money, we would still be trading with a double coincidence of wants. You would still be trying to find someone who would want to trade 6 eggs for a loaf of bread.

You think its bad now? many people wouldnt be able to survive and life expectancy would probably be half what it is now, if it wasnt for the current system.

There are thousands of people trying to escape from wherever they are, to get in and you are complaining?

Touched a raw nerve have I?

Back to sleep boy. Now there's a good boy.

Fortunately for me I have been very lucky with work. When I work for somebody, else they are lucky I am working for them. I once resigned from a job and within 20 minutes the CEO had me in the room with my line manager asking for an explenation as to why I resigned. Ten minutes after that he asked me to withdraw my resignation as the reason for my resignation was removed.

I am nothing special, I am a worker but perhaps with one thing different. I am confident of my abilities, what do and how much I earn for my company. Of course that situation was 8 years ago. Since than I am my own boss. Sometimes I feel like going on strike but then I have a meeting with myself and convincee myself not to do it. So the strike gets cancelled.

Anyway, lets turn to a real problem.

How does this buying shares and selling them to make a profit or buying money and selling it to make a profit help with production or service a company has to offer. I am not talking about a few hundred pounds worth, I am talking millions of pounds worth. Where does the the gambling of other peoples investment in futures help the economy in terms of production or service. I mean to be allowed to sell something you do not have surely is fraud. How is this legal?
How do pyramid selling fit into all this?

Is this not a prime example of blood suckers living off somebody elses effort.

why do you think you have touched a raw nerve, I am just telling it as it is.

Life is difficult, the world can be cruel and people are complicated and not always what they present themselves to be.

They are mostly looking out for their own interests.

Companies sell shares to raise capital so they can invest and grow the company. People buy shares in companies, to help it grow and succeed and to have a stake in its performance.

How you have come to the conclusion that this is blood sucking, living off someone else's effort is beyond me.

It's not a democracy. It's slavery in a modern form.
Imo the problem in hand is not whether the workers should have a say, as this will come later. For now we need to modify the system, so that there will both be an incentive to those who deserve to become millionaires by building up successful businesses, but at the same time make sure that ripping off ALL the fruits has a deadline.
Another way is to impose heavy taxation as the currently do in Scandinavia. However this assumes the Govnt is a good administrator which proved not to be true.

I think I understand what he means. Without issuing shares the owner rips all the wealth the workers produce. When he issues shares there come additional small owners also ripping off the existing workers plus the new ones that came in because of the expansion. And this may continue for eternity. The point here is that no big business becomes successful because of the owner alone. The most bright ideas and innovations came from his employees-his overall workforce that include managers and other highly paid personnel. Therefore the owner (and those who bought shares) are not entitled to rip the benefits for ever just because he was the original organizer of something that became a success (most of the times because of pure luck).

Absolutely agree.
But first there is a more immidiate problem. Paying people at the bottom wages they cannot live on so they depend on government or church or other entity handouts to make ends meet. SOme times even resort to stealing food from supermarkets.

By all means sort out the taxation so people pay the taxes they are supposed to pay. I have no problem a person setting up an enterprize and making a million or more but not by paying starvation wages to workers.

Interesting film just watched.Laundromat. Very confusing at times but then the subject they took on was very confusing too. Interesting comment at the end which is revealing.

in the United states in 2018, 60 companies paid no tax with a pre-tax income of 79 Billion dollars. This surely is crime against humanity because it is this crime that prevents money reaching the people via investment on inferstructure scociety needs to function.

You are such a lightweight.
You think you know it all
But all you know is fuck all.

I am talking about buying and selling shares and money every day, I am talking about selling shares people do not have and betting on currency of a country to rise or fall and make a kiling at the expense of people suffering for their action.

Dummy in and off to sleep boy.
But this time make sure it is in the right hole you hear.
