What Admin needs is a moderator to take control and remove offending posts, as well as apply some control by banning people for short period till they come to their senses, with increased duration of banning persistent offenders.

Just allowing people to automatically be added will not do it.

But remember that while not many people contribute, many more do read the posts.

That person should be Admin himself. No active member can do it unless he becomes inactive, which would turn his task to "unpaid labor".

Just allowing people to automatically be added will not do it.

It will bring in new blood, new ideas, more interesting people. The forum is currently in slow death mode, because of Admin's fantasy, that if he changes his admission policy, it would be flooded with spam.
