...it would be a big gift to Putin.

His "Cyprus solution" (in Georgia, and) in the Crimea would be justified and reasoned; operations in "Peace" but desperate measures in desperate times that these men are creating for themselves.

However, neither, it seems, learn from each other's results; as in the Ukraine nothing more can be done to unite Cypriots but annexation: wot?

The Problem, i repeat myself, to them would be more profitable solved but for a change in intentions, fame rather than infamy; (knowing how these men turn on a dime i remain hopeful).

...what with Turkey's Centennial around the corner, indeed Erdogan needs something big for the celebrations.

The TCs have never expressed the idea of Enosis with Turkey, not even in the dark days of the 60s. It has always been Taksim. To this day no politician has expressed the idea of joining Turkey except may be Arikli and he has as many MPs as ELAM and he is a Gaco. Not that all settlers think like him. if they loved Turkey. They are qeually political in their thinking and have all the political colours amongst them from the fascists to the communist and everything in between,

I do not believe he will get such a vote in a referendum in Northern Cyprus. Without it, he cannot declare the north as part of Turkey.
