What I was saying Maria is that it is too melancholic, (sp) and from the MP3 I downloaded her voice goes up and down. And the UP part seemed that she could not make it as high.

Somehow it would not had been the song I would had chosen. Then again, I am in love with Vissi. lol

I know what you mean about vissi I am not in love with her but I think she is stunning.
I am not intimidated.

Thank GOD (your dad that is :D ) that you are not in love with her too. Don't know what I would had to do with the TWO of you.

So has ANYONE have ANY idea what song Vissi is singing? Or you just all want me to suffer by not knowing?? What do I have to dooooo? LOL
Oh wait, maybe I give her a call. She would know. (note: Dream on Leo. end note.)

being so "anti-english" in everything we do, i would expect us, to be patriots enough and sing a song in our language... unfortunately, besides italy, france, and serbia, we are just an addition to all those countries who resist only by words, while accepting all the rest of the influence...and i mean all of it.

The question is though would we even have a chance if the song was not in English?

Don't they also judge based on the lyrics? Don't we lose something if the judges do not understand them?
Questions Questions. LOL
See I know nuffing about this Eurovision stuff.

leonidas obviously you know nothing
eurovision, is not voted anymore by judges but by people. it is very interesting if you watch how the voting goes. believe me, last year i didnot watch the songs, but only the voting part. everyone votes for his neighbours. almost always. guess to whom we give our maximum points to, and to who does greece

second its not about winning. the whole concept that the EU was built (i know that its not eurovision, but still..) was that we can be united, but we can also be different...and we should be different. the competition has lost too much since this trend of everybody singing in english - sth that was not the case , till some ten years ago.

moreover singing in english, has caused another inevitability. all the songs are pop - like. as a concequence, the cypriot song could with the same ease, represent england, and the swidish one would represent spain. the national charachter in the songs is lost, and for me that has made that competition having no sense. its just 20 or so english - pop songs. nothing to do with the countries participating.

 Okay I AM ALL clear about it now. LOL
And yes you are right. I know nuuuuuuuuuuufing :D
So after all that eunification what keeps a small country like Cyprus from getting screwed by the bigger population ones? Especially when the vote is by the people and no judges??
Man this EU stuff is complex. At least the USA was build based on that and there where no centuries of history and languages to deal with. Not to mention all the other complexities.

Then again if it is EU based why are non EU countries in it? Like Russia and Armenia and Turkey and and whoever other no EU country?

I think I need a drink. Oh I don't drink. hmmmm :? What's a man to do??
