Relocation Costs

Postby Niki » Fri Mar 10, 2006 1:12 pm

Can anyone tell me how much we can expect to pay for moving lock stock and barrel to Cyprus from England - Mum, Dad, 2 girls and 2 dogs with a lot of household items. Maximum budget???

Shipping, flights, paperwork etc - not housebuying as I am getting a feel for this from the estate agents websites.

We are considering storing a lot of our furniture in England until a later date.

I am talking to Acklimatise as we want to move to Limassol about arranging things - is this a good thing to do?

Thanks

We used LSA Packers and Shippers to move our goods and store them in Cyprus until our house was ready – you’ll find storage here significantly cheaper than storing in the UK.

You’ll need to get an individual; quotation for the packing and shipping. we let them pack everything for us – they stored it for a year in Limassol, then delivered to our house and removed all the packaging materials a week later.

Thank you for this.

Sorry Grump, I didn't say thanks for this reply originally. Always good to get recommendations.

I have been quoted @£10,000 for the move with no storage as a rough estimate but I think we will need a bigger container than this has been based on so it would be more than this. Seems a lot??

Cyrpus Removals - can I get in touch when I have a better idea of our timescales? I guess I can search for your website when the time comes.

Thanks

Niki

I can’t remember how much we paid but it wasn’t anywhere near £10K!

We had a twenty foot container that was packed to the brim. How big do you need?

We did have a 20 foot container quoted for but I think I underestimated the house contents not to mention hubby's drum kit, many guitars etc and all our kids paraphernalia. It's amazing how much 'stuff' you have when you think about it.

niki,

i am affraid we dont have a website (yet). i can definately tell you the 10K is very expensive - even without knowing the details of your shipments.

Please send me an email on [email protected] whenever you are ready.

Niki, I used Mondial when I moved over and found them very very helpful and very reasonably priced. The only problems I had was how to pack the TV, so they told me to just give it to them and they will pack it for me, which true to their word, they did.

Had no breakages, no damaged goods and no missing cartons. They are based in Brimsdown, Enfield and have a depot in Limassol too.
