Its a forum for god sake, people talk, share idea and advice etc.

Yes it is!

But people on here give their advice free of charge – sometimes they go to extraordinary lengths to answer questions. I’ve seen people on here that have gone out and taken pictures for people that have posted from abroad and asked what places look like.

I think that if people take time to answer your questions and give good, free, honest answers you should treat them with some respect.

You have splashed questions all over this forum, should I buy in Agia Napa, Pafos, Polis, the market is down, the market is up, where is the next hot spot, I am going to buy in Pafos, etc. Quite frankly, and not wishing to offend anyone I think you are taking advantage of the good nature of the posters on here that have moved to Cyprus and made their lives here…

I run my own web forum – in my experience you see lots of people that are fed up with the UK and wants something better. I go to great lengths to help them and I have gone to great lengths to help people on this board too. In fact, I’ve had some compliments recently from people that have valued my free advice.

But then there are other people that are just dreamers and time wasters. I get loads of those on my website who have no intention of moving here but seem to get pleasure from making you jump through hoops and answer pointless questions – people that will never leave the ‘safety’ of the UK and move to Cyprus.

If I was a betting man I’d say you were a dreamer.

If you ever leave the UK I’d take great pleasure in welcoming you here and buy you a beer but based on your recent posts I think my CY£1 is fairly safe.

Cool, you stick to your opinion and I will stick to mine.

As for the dreamer part, I don't think so. I'm not looking at moving over there just a holiday home. I am using this forum to get advice from other. If you are offended by my posts then don't read them. I have been to Cyprus a few times and guess things have changed since my last visit. I am just after friendly help and advice.

The beer, you can get me a large Keo, cheers!

Hi Simon,

While I don't necessarily agree with the tone grump seemed to convey previously, i think he was not irritated at the fact that you asked the questions, just the fact that you contradicted yourself in several posts. You have mentioned in different posts that you were moving to Polis, Pafos, Napa and Protoras and in another just asking every1 where u should move to.

So maybe it gets a big confusing and gives the impression that you're not serious (though maybe you are, don't know, not my business). Either way, just make your intentions and point clearer so we can help u out :) I stick by my opinion, napa is not for you if ya want the peaceful life..... Protoras is nice but incredibly boring outside tha summer months. Pafos from what I know has all the expact population that has moved away from Limassol for some reason, though lim still has a very sizeable one. Polis is a tiny village, absolutely nothing to do in ur spare time. nicosia is not a retirement place.

Any help? G'luck with tha move.... personally im gonna be moving the other way around :) Hope I don't get shot or anything over in the uk

Hi Angel,

No worries :) I actually am only in Cyprus over the Uni holidays, about 5 months a year, so live in Switzerland most of the time right now. But, have to move back to Cy to do some army service and after that hope to go England.

Moving away because Cyprus salary levels and work mentality are not in-line with mine. Have never lived in England, visited couple of times and I have some family and lotsof friends there, so why not try...

Why do you ask? :P

Hey tcklim,

I reckon Angel Eyes is asking because because if you have lived in the UK ( as I have for almost 40 years !! ), and then Cyprus , why would you ever wish to return to the climate, the crime, the general misery that surrounds everything that you do in this God-forsaken country .

But what the Hell, that's just me talking -- I'm sure you'll have a blast !

Good luck ( you'll need it )

What I dont understand myself is why all the people coming from the UK comment on the misery life, crime etc etc etc.... well, if you do not consider the big cities like London, Manchester etc, and consider Canterbury, Kent, Margate, Ramsgate and the like, the crime is actually low and I believe you can rase a family at those small towns (small compared to LOndon, similar to the CY towns).... I believe most of these people think that Cyprus and other Mediterannean islands are just dream places, a Paradise which is totally untrue. Then when they move down here, in a while they realise that their dream was not that true and start moaning about what was different from UK etc...

Nothing against anybody and I hope I did not offend anyone.

That may well be the case in the south and most mditerannean islands. The north is relatively peaceful and crime free.
