You’re missing a do. Which is surprising because you do use allot of doodoo in your posts.

"Actually I think the most banal topic is this one."

andri_cy, when I created this topic of conversation I was merely making a point (albeit I have to admit with an intentional lack of subtlety) about some of the threads of conversation that I have had the good fortune to have stumble upon whilst perusing this forum. If your last post is anything to go by you seem (and please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) to have taken me literally and grossly mistaken/misinterpreted my satirical and rhetorical question as an invitation to a slanging match whereas other members such as Debbie, mad-dog and unique_earthling have grasped the point entirely.

If this were an exercise in entrapment (which I can assure it isn't) your current status would not be disimilar to that of the proverbial kipper that was famously "done up". Should you or anyone else for that matter require an explanation of this most commonly used English expression then please feel free to post a request and I will be more than happy to enlighten you.

I think this is partly the fault of the website structure. Perhaps there should be under "General" a category for serious or "High level" discussions and another for "banal" or cafe society gossipers among us. But the problem is perhaps what is serious for one is banal for another.....................
