Montreal,

You should not be embarrassed by the behavior of these Labanese Canadians. They are a small percentage of an otherwise very pleasant Canadian population.

Montreal, are you currently here in Cyprus? Are you meeting them first hand hearing their complaining and moaning that they were not put on a "proper" cruise ship?? I am, and believe me, it's not just the Lebanese Canadians..

:P :P While part of me was joking (a well-known site pokes fun at Americans' desire to move to Canada: http://www.marryanamerican.ca/ ), Canada strikes me as a wonderful place to live. I am very jealous of one of my best friends who has dual Canadian/American nationality. Sure, there are higher taxes and colder weather, but life up there seems more pleasant than around here sometimes. :)

Greetings to everyone,

Well, winters here are not that cold anymore (global warming...) and the taxes...Or double taxes, if you are in Quebec... not that bad.
About the dual Lebaneses' behaviour...It is some sort of trend for the minorities to criticise, complaint, consider themselves "discriminated"...
Each time there is a legitimite subject concerning them... the majority is immediately labelled "racist".
And if in Canada these minorities are "discriminated"... I wonder where else in the wordl are they so well taken care of.
Maybe the old times in The Netherlands.
But the Dutch woke up.
I am not ashamed for THEIR behaviour. I feel sorry for them. Because, behaving like this, once again, they made their point: I am a Canadian passport holder, I have rights.
But what about responsabilities?
A passport is not enough, in my eyes, to make a person a citizen.
I need a visible proof.
And I am not impressed with immigrants singing the anthem each time they run a demonstration or they do not want to be deported (the illegals).
Cheap attempts to impress the population.
To become a genuine citizen takes much more...

Epage,
Could you give me more details about the Lebanese in Cyprus (behaviour, comments etc)?
They should be ashamed.
