H

Will you have a car? If you do not, then you are limited to the tourist tavernas of the TOKR and will miss the real gems.

If you do have a car I will find some great places for you :-)

Hi there! In "upper paphos" theres a really great fish and chip shop, really cheap but fresh and tasty - I cant remember the name though only that it was right by the open market.

OK 5yearplan

get your eating boots on:

take the TOKR towards the harbour but instead of going right at the Begonia traffic lights, go straight on. Turn left at the second set of lights (opposite the Church) and the excellent Thymos Fish taverna is 80m up on the right; always full of locals - a good sign.

drive to Coral Bay and turn left into the Coral Bay 'strip' carry on for 3km and pass the Coral Bay Beach Hotel on your right. Continue for 5km and you will see a small side road on your left marked Yaoulis Tavern it is right on ther beach open 11-5 I think.

drive to Coral Bay but trun right towards Peyia (Pegeia) carry on up inot the village and on your right is the excellent Peyia Tavern; you can parkin in the municiple car park about 3om before on the left.

There are various ethnic and European places but these are all very 'Cypriot', great food at great prices.

Having paid £2.15 for a SMALL beer in London on Saturday night, it was refreshing to see the price of beer in the tourist area by Paphos Harbour, today: £1, 89c, 85c. Nice to see tourists benefiting from competition.

I know its not Paphos but you could try Pissouri. Head for the Village Square. If you go on a Wednesday night (you may need to check this it could be a Friday) they have a Cypriot theme night there, supposed to be nice.

Large beer (Keo) in square is £1.50!!! (back in May)

for what its worth avoid the chinese place in coral bay main strip. Its great looking good service etc . However the food is 100% from the microwave. Not good for a restuarant.
