In need of housekeeper

Postby junemichael » Tue Aug 29, 2006 2:02 pm

Must speak and understand English and be very trustworthy. Needed to clean house thoroughly with occassional extras i.e, window cleaning and little weeding. Tuesday and Friday, 2-4 hours per day. £2.50 per hour. Must love animals.

Are there people that would go somewhere to work for 2 hours to get 5 pounds? Just transportation would cost more!

Limassol.

I have been in Cyprus nearly 5 years and had to work 8 hrs for only £15! The average salary here is £2 per hour, a cleaner is normally less! Last year I would have jumped at the chance to earn a little cash when I couldn't even afford to feed myself! And it is not for £5 is is a minimum of 2 hours and probably would not take more than 4 hours per day which is up to £10 per day (£20 per week!).

It is an ironic reference.

No offence mate but I would find it rather amusing if somebody offered me £2.50 per hour

No offence, but you obviously have not had to struggle here in Cyprus like most of us. Like we mentioned for the last 5 years when we have managed to get jobs we can only earn £2 per hour and I am a legal Secretary and my husband is a Chef!! So please don't criticise what you don't understand.

I am not criticising, I would just find it amusing. I have indeed lived in Cyprus and worked, nobody has ever offered me such low wages, and I was only 16 at the time. I am sorry that you have struggled, but with such jobs, you should have been earning more. Where was you working, to be earning just £2 an hour!

Good luck in finding somebody.
