please let me know how you managed to be up-graded!!

chris

The first time was when I bumped into my neighbour ( a Cyprus airways pilot ) at the airport when I was on my way back to the UK -- we chatted for a while --I went into the departures -- when the flight was called and I handed in my boarding pass I found I had been up graded.

although I've never been up graded in the high season I've managed it quite a few times on my odd trips to Cyprus out of season.

If you are alone -- look presentable and it's out of the main holiday season -- why not ask -- they can only say no .

My favourite Airline! I flew once with First Choice and it will be my last choice in future. It is the financial backing that spoils CY. I am coming in June with 17 friends and I have used BA simply because I was worried CY could go through financial problems. Yes I do realise that doesn't help CY but I had to be sure of the flights and am using LHR/LCA.

I stuck by CA for years but it seems since Helios was banned from flying in that they think they can be the golden goose.

Never again

Anyway I was sick of eating stiffado / Kritharagi or Stiffado/ Rice which seemed to be the only menu they used all last year :)

RichardB...I dont know about you but am stuck with CA...because I want to...and last time that I travelled they had pasta or chicken, dessert, salad, bread etc...and every time that I travel is something different...

As I said in another threat...I never had any problem about my extra kg...different movies every time...safe journey...should I say more??

There seems to be very mixed views on Cyprus Airways............anyhow I have booked with them for our trip in May, they were slightly cheaper than BA and with all the bad publicity BA havd been receiving in UK in the last month (all the luggage they have lost and threatened strikes etc), I thought I would give them a try.

Maybe the Stiffado is reserved for the Manchester flight

But in all honesty I dont see how they can justify £200 per person more than BA for the same flight.

I'm not talking about a cheap no frills carrier but a scheduled flight the same as CA with the extra legroom etc but £200 per person cheaper[/quote]
