At least all the people you have mentioned above advocate having a United Cyprus. What do you and VP, and Shahmaran advocate...PARTITION. :!: :!:

Now that is insulting. They advocate unification by force and war and you side with that. I don't know what to say to you and await your response.

Really. When was the last time you and the gang advocated Unified Cyprus. :?:

What. What are you talking about now. You just said you prefer to live with war mongers rather than your own TCs. Who will you be shooting at if they get their way is what I am asking.

What back to you. :!: :!:

I have never said I wanted to live with any war mongers, be it be TC or GC. I'm asking who is advocating Unified Cyprus and who is advocating PARTITION. Now, you answer me that question, before you go on about who's shooting who.

So to you, unification by what ever means? Sod the consequences. I thought you actually had thought this through but alas not so. Just wanting something and not allowing for the consequences is what has got us into this mess and you want more of it. Looks like you have already had that drink. I would try to sleep it off. I am off to bed now.

Oh come on Zan, don't leave the party now.

Why would you think any Unified Cyprus would lead into a shooting match. We already had that, and we all know, it does not work. Where is your courage to take a step forward, rather that being stuck in 1963.

That's great, Piratis stuck in 1571 and you in 1963.

Zan, war mongers are those that support illegalities and crimes via the use of brute force. That is you, not me.

What I support is legality, democracy and human rights for all Cypriots without racist discriminations. When the police of every country enforces the laws of the country to protect the majority of the people from a small minority of criminals, is the police "war mongers"? When every country uses its army to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity from foreign invasions, are they "war mongers"? What are you talking about?

What I hope for is that legality can return without the use of any force. But if you insist in crimes, illegalities and human rights violations and you show no kind of indication of ever respecting the international and local laws, then I would surely want the state, when that becomes possible, to do what it should and protect the country and its citizens.

I am not stuck anywhere but the year 2007. If you take what I have written time and time again you will find that I want to move on from today. Today where the island is divided and but for a little bit of tweaking my people are living in relative safety and comfort. I have also said that it is not the people of the RoC I fear but the government and those that will be in it. There are other ways to hurt us than war and bullets but in systematic discrimination. Forgive me if I do not want to sign up to that and have seen what is going on all over the world with respect to minorities, let alone what is happening in Greece and in Turkey. We have a chance to live as a proud people in our own TRNC and we will. I am sorry but circumstances have brought us to where we are today and it is not the fault of the new generation. Why should they have to pay for the biggest cock up in Cyprus history in that of our first president.

I do not get fed up writing this over and over again.

I am glad that my post have triggered a very nice debate ..

What I have to say to my fellow Greek Cypriots it's one thing!

How you are so sure that TC want all the land that is currently under control of the Turkish troops?
In all these years how many steps have been done towards of what I call a decent partition of this island?

All deals seem to follow the 1977 Makarios -Denktash agreement
But that was 1977 and now is 2007 ! 30 years have passed and I think is time for us to move forward !

How we are so sure that if we have pursued a 80% - 20% split of the island that the TC would say NO if we had never proposed it?

Yes I have something in common with shahmaran. I don't despise Turks But I just don't want to co-operate with them !

I would prefer that no Turk had never set foot in Cyprus but the fact is that they are here and they were here in the past and they have the right to be here in the future !

It's like a marriage! If you can't cooperate with your life partner then get a divorce and split the belongings !
History have taught us a lesson ! Greeks and Turks can't coexist under the same goverment !

My proposal is to push our politicians to throw this suggestion on the negotiation table !

No more talks about Cyprus Confederation !

My proposal?

One Island

Two independent nations

Equal distribution of land according to population !

Good post, this should be another serious alternative to the current stalemate, we should allow for GCs who want to return and live in the TRNC. If no solution if found in the next 5 years this should automatically take place and we should go our separate ways for ever and no one can stop this development with full world backing.
