The questions of evolution have been a thorn in the side of many scientific and religious bodies since they were first suggested by Charles Darwin, to this day those questions have been referred to as theories.
As far as I am aware, the scientists are in agreement that AT SOME POINT in mankind's development there was a significant leap forward which led to a rapid surge in intelligence.
In recent years, various theories have been offered as as explanation of this phenomena, none of which can be conclusively stated as fact.
If you were to discuss the matter with Tom Cruise, he would regale you with the benefits of Scientology, he believes he has the answers, good luck to him.
If you discuss the matter with a scientist, he will bore you to tears with a host of conflicting opinions (certainly emphasizing his own) which he believes in, good luck to him also.
If you discuss the matter with a clergyman, you will also hear of HIS beliefs, good luck to him too.

Now we should apply our own thoughts to the matter, I personally think I have a method of making a fair assessment by observing the behaviour of my fellow man, I will supply you with a very small example of such (Before I retire for the night).
I asked one of my workers to search through a large box of assorted nuts and bolts for a particular one, I watched him shuffling the contents of the box from one end to the other, suddenly, he made a grab for the one he was seeking, his movement was identical to that which you would expect from a monkey seizing a nut and I am inclined to believe that some of us (myself included) are descended from the apes.
If any one of you in a similar situation, can honestly say you would react differently, you should talk to Tom Cruise.
If any of you are unsure as to how you would react, conduct a similar experiment or talk to a scientist.
If any of you are not concerned about exploring the various possibilities of our existence, you may either dismiss the subject or discuss it with a clergyman.
As to the question put to those of the Muslim faith in this thread, I am bound to say that the words of Sheikh Ahmed Deedat are the most profound yet simplest of all when he declared, "Allah commanded that it should be so and so it was !"
Now, put that in your pipe and smoke it. :)

Mistakes done by A Muslim? the mind boggles, so now we know ir's all down to just one man, the vast majority of terrorist activities at this moment in time are carried out by muslims, that is fact.
Today it was annouced that a 17 year old muslim girl was suffocated/strangled because she refused to marry a stranger, I'm 101% cetain that it wasn't the local Catholic priest who did it.Today in the UK A muslim has been sentenced to 4.5 years for terrorist activities.

 Is that because that's who she was meant to marry?

You are not quite there Stout.

There is only one theory of Evolution, and it is referred to as a theory not because it's uncertain, but because all evidence points to it being correct.

There are no conflicting pieces of evidence to contradict Darwin's theory of Evolution. Scientists would not refer to it as fact though, because unlike lay, they consider theories of a higher worth than mere "facts" which may be used to construct a theory.

We are not descended from apes, but we have co-evolved alongside them. That is why they are still around.

And finally, the big leap in intelligence occurred at the same time as we started to use our "imaginations" and invented religion.

I will answer your post from here southerner because yet again I agree with Phoenix. You misunderstood what Phoenix said about not being descendents' of apes, we are. What people fail to realise is that the apes did not stop evolving and that the apes of today are nothing like the apes of old. Just like we changed, they changed, or evolved. We mastered the thinking gene and they mastered the running about and displaying their butts gene...A bit like you when you start generalising about religion....

I went to a friends child's Christening a few years back and on this happy occasion, in a C of E church, had to sit and listen to a burke vicar telling us that we were all sinners and we would all burn in hell if we did not change our ways. He brought with him a set of scales to show us how we had to balance out the bad with the good. "The scales are full at the bad end", he said and stuck a small globe of the world in one side.

He then went on to tell us that evolution was gods work and god made the big bang happen. He had no idea what he was talking about though and flitted from one bit of rubbish to another.

The Church it seems has seen the threat of science and have "evolved" from the day of putting scientists to death but have not evolved enough to teach their vicars real science. What are they afraid of. We had to sit through an hour and a half of this and if it was not for my friend I would have got up and walked out in front of everyone. We were then supposed to enjoy the Christening......
   He gave me the oddest look when I walked passed and did not shake his hand at the end of the service. He got one back too!

So my racist and bigoted friend....You should look to your own before condemning others.

The most bigoted cult is the one that has its headquarters in Rome, has a Nazi scumbag for the Pope of Rome,& has a propaganda website that spews out messages of hate here; www.vatican.va .

The Roman Catholic 'Church' still hates Protestants, especially Anglicans & Lutherans,& they still hate Jews & Muslims.

The Cult of Rome still supports terrorism, especially that committed by Sinn Fein/I.R.A. in both countries on the isle of Ireland, which, despite recent 'peace agreements',are still engaging in genocide & ethnic cleansing against the Protestant minority in the Republic of Ireland & the Protestant majority in Ulster ('Northern Ireland').
