Before 1963, us TCs would have used both , yali, yali and siga, siga for slowly slowly.

In addition the large bumble bee was 'siga' or 'sika', also the fig was called siga in Greek. What a combination.

Deniz, you missed an 'f' in the siga. I think it actually is 'sfigua'.

The correct expression is "siga ..... siga" with perhaps a or perhaps a or perhaps a to follow depending on the meaning to be conveyed, siga .. siga of course

I can not dispute that my friend. To which meaning is that applied to? The fig. bee, or slowly slowly. The sound left in my ear is simply 'siga'. Its been a long time since I have spoken Gibriaga.

Yes it is Cypriot. Yali yali means the same thing as siga siga, slowly slowly. The true Cypriot language is a mixture of Greek and Turkish words. For instance Barberis (barber) is a Turkish word. I use it far more than the greek equivalent of Kourias. You have a choice, it's ashame that many have forgetted their Turkish equivalents, but I know them well. lol
