Each coin has two sides. Listen to both Turks and Greeks then make your own judgement. Do you know the Turks in Greece cannot call themselves "Turks", because they were already recognised as "Muslim Greeks" in Laussaine Treaty? Do you know that many Turks had to leave their homes because of the Greek occupation of today's Northern Greece and the Aegean islands? I am not saying they were all murdered. It's wrong. But especially in Crete, there was a republic, which both Turks and Greeks had seats in the parliament. But later the Turks were forced to abandon their homes and flee to Turkey. Likewise. the Greeks living in Turkey had to leave their homes, they've been living for centuries, because of the Turkish national resistence movement? Besides, how comes a person living in Istanbul not allowed to get out? It's the first time I am hearing that! For the Cyprus problem I suggest you:

P.S: If Turks are to blame, then Greeks have to be blamed too. It's a two side story.

Do you two consider yourselves different to main land Turks? Like, just say in a football match, Turkey was playing, would you support them as your own team? In Eurovision, do you support Cyprus or Turkey (maybe you don't watch it, but it's just an example)?

The thing that gets me is living in north Cyprus illegally (and trying to called it 'TRNC').

I am main land Turk Leon :)

Our teachers taught us how Greeks were brutal to Turks and Turks were angels. Should I believe in my teacher or not? Oh no! I have a capacity to think, do some research and judge in a way that I can even convince people.

She's in her twenties I think. I'll talk to her about it, but apparently Greek babies were kidnapped and brought up as Turks in Turkey, then returned to their real homes as soldiers and killed their own people (they weren't told that they were Greek). This sounds believable to me.

I have always said I fully accept Greeks' fault in this, but if they were invaded and (in some parts) living and being treated awfully, I would lash out like they did, trying to get freedom back. I never said it was right though.

Leon, it is true that Ottomans kidnapped non-Muslim babies and raise as Janissaries, but not necessarily they were forced to kill their families. What for?
Read something about them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Janissary

demetriou, after all of those helps to your demands, you betrayed us! :)

Murtaza, for the time being, Cyprus must stay how it is. Don't make too many changes. If there is a complete division, then think of all the Cypriots' homes lost :!:
