There seems little doubt that they were co-ordinated terrorist attacks, but it is useless to speculate who is responsible; there could be any of a dozen groups involved.

Remeber Madrid? Speculation there cost the government their job. TB is too well advised to allow that to happen in the UK.

Six bombs have gone off one was a suicide bomber on a bus, at least 90 people injured just at aldgate station, reports of deaths coming in.

The bus was ripped apart like a tin can, all transport into london has been stopped.

I've been watching it develop on tv throughout the morning. Looks like four bomb explosions in tube tunnels/on tube trains and one which ripped through the top deck of a bus in Tavistock Square. Although it's speculation, I think it's informed speculation to say that these were timed to coincide with the opening of the G8 summit in Gleneagles. They're certainly unlikely to be attacks linked to Irish terrorism as a characteristic of these is pre-emptive warnings. Therefore, I think it would either be some shadowy anarchistic group opposed to capitalism, which is partially discounted by the choice of targets, or terrorism incited by extreme Islam.

The pictures of the bus hit me in particular, if you've ever seen one of the buses hit by a suicide bomber in Israel, you'll note the parallels. If this was a suicide attack, it's a whole new form of terrorism in this country. If it is, I hope it'll also be a one-off, if it was the beginning of a concerted campaign of suicide bombings, it would shut this country down. It would also mean the beginning of a dangerous period for any muslims in this country. Having been in Israel at a time when suicide bombing was happening, any Palestinian-looking person walking in the street was viewed with great suspicion. Therefore, for both these reasons, let us pray it's not, and also let us pray for those who have been killed and injured today. Also, let us hope that vengeance on those who perpetrated this will be swift and harsh.

I would strongly suggest to wait how things develop andclear up before we make any guessings who is to be blamed.
There are already so many rumours, Al-Qaida yes and no, suicide bombings yes and no, planned attacks yes and no, mobile phone network has been shut down yes and no. At this very moment noone even exactly knows what has happened.... not even the number of blasts is sure....
