Perhaps keep you coins and instead wonder how you would feel if the Greeks asked you to drop your "scurrilous" claim to the TRNC, so that they can save some money by purchasing fewer F-16s, submarines, destroyers, and battle tanks...

Greek Defence expenditure is around 4% of GDP

So you learned fractions and percentages eh? Please then inform us how Greek military expenditure as a percentage of GDP compares with other nations in Europe.

Even if it was 1% lower to equal most other EU nations, it would not have made one iota of a difference!

All countries have Defence expenditure, but defense is not responsible for Greece's financial woes.

Perhaps you ought to count the number of EU members above Greece in the list:

I no longer look at WWII photos in the same way that I did in the past because today I know that the Jews turned out to be as bad if not worse than the Nazis once they had attained power.

These days when I see pictures of Jews in concentration camps, etc, I can’t help but think to myself… “I guess Hitler knew something about the Jews that the rest didn’t…”

Donation? :? If anything, Greece should pay Cyprus damages caused directly and indirectly by their stupid 74 coup!

Sarkozy: Europe Will Stand By Greece

Harry Papachristou and Crispian Balmer, 03.08.10, 04:00 AM EST

French president also vows a crackdown on financial speculators that drive Athens' borrowing costs higher.

PARIS - French President Nicolas Sarkozy promised Greece Sunday that euro-zone countries would help it overcome its financial problems and vowed a European crackdown on financial speculators Athens blames for its woes.

He was speaking after talks with Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou, who is seeking pledges of support from European capitals that will reassure markets and lower the debt-stricken country's hefty borrowing costs.

"Christine Lagarde, in tandem with her colleagues in the euro zone and in Europe ... is working on a certain number of precise measures if Greece needs them," he said, standing alongside the Greek prime minister.

Perhaps you can explain to me how Defense expenditure is the root cause of Greece's financial crisis especially since Cyprus spends almost as much, and also Turkey spends more, and yet it is even more solvent than Greece at the moment!

The Greek Diaspora has been most generous in raising funds for worthwhile causes such as the Peloponnese fires for example.

But what is most disgusting is how Greece has set up fund raising accounts in its foreign embassies asking the Diaspora to dig deep and donate!

How pathetic can you get, when we see Greek Unions and public servants riot in the streets of Athens. If Greeks couldn't care less, then neither does the Diaspora.

Our response was similar to Germany's.....
