Anyone who booked a BA flight via a telesales centre in the last 12 months is at risk.

Many victims had their accounts raided directly after booking a BA flight, in a scam that has affected passengers right across Europe.

A police raid on Flyline, BA's booking centre in Bremen, Germany, unearthed significant fraudulent activity.

The decision to stop the BAE investigation raises questions about the rule of law and fairness in deciding which cases to prosecute

The Serious Fraud Office’s decision to drop its corruption investigation into the BAE Systems arms deal with Saudi Arabia is still haunting ministers. Within weeks judgment will be given in a High Court challenge brought by the Campaign Against Arms Trade and the Corner House over that decision. And the result will be of more than academic interest. If Lord Justice Moses criticises the Government as trenchantly as he did in court, the case will not only finish in the House of Lords — pressure for reform of the corruption Acts will be overwhelming.

Its a fair cop guvnor...... ths BAE deal was bent as a "9 bob note"

I'm sure that arms deals ( or to think of it land deals or in fact any freaking deal!!) to oil rich middle east states never ever ever involve corruption and bribery.

FYI.... I once lost a 200k+ contract to a large university in Saudi.... why ???

Because I would not pay the 3 bribes required which would have doubled the price !!!!!

Oddly enough I always found that business in Saudi was a nightmare. Libya, however were efficient honest and prompt

Ok...... thats it , I'm off to make some money.

So-

I'll put on my "Captain Corruption" suit.
Grab my corruption licence ( UK Passport).

And go to sell a Cypriot something 25% cheaper than anyone else on the island
.

But in a corrupt and thoroughly sneaky manner

All the popular British newspaper sources used are far more credible than the expat's favorite "Cyprus Mail" so your objection is overruled! :D

A BRITISH politician has been arrested for writing on Twitter that a female Muslim journalist should be stoned to death.

Tory councillor Gareth Compton, 38, tweeted, "Can someone please stone Yasmin Alibhai-Brown to death? I shan't tell Amnesty [International] if you don't. It would be a blessing, really."

He later apologised for the remark, calling it "an ill-conceived attempt at humour", but Alibhai-Brown said it was racially motivated.

Alibhai-Brown, who writes for British newspaper The Independent, said she regarded the comment as incitement to murder and confirmed she would report Compton to the police.

I am reminded of a post that highlighted bad sources

quote
BAD sources of “evidence” include:

1. People’s family members, friends, and other acquaintances, all prone to bias and unable to have been in more than one location at any given moment thereby having a very limited scope of events.

2. Greek Cypriot, Turkish Cypriot, Armenian Cypriot, Turkish, and Greek websites, all prone to bias and therefore suspected of serving their respective interests.

3. Newspaper articles and independent authors that do not quote their credible sources of information when stating facts & figures.

4. Text that is NOT in English as it defeats the very purpose of general comprehension and any “translations” thereof that cannot be easily checked for their accuracy.

5. Open-source online encyclopedias such as the Wikipedia, that allows any person to write up articles and present them as fact with next to zero scrutiny.

I think at least some of these fit with in this list>

Most Popular British papers have an agenda of their own and are notorious for their particular bias, frequently linked to those of their owners.

Judges in blackmail case face inquiry

Two senior immigration judges were facing a top-level disciplinary inquiry last night after highly sensitive details of their sex lives and illegal employment practices were exposed in a blackmail trial involving their Brazilian cleaner.

The Lord Chancellor and the Lord Chief Justice issued a statement saying that the public needed to have confidence in the judiciary and that the allegations against the judges were sufficiently serious for them to consider an inquiry into their conduct.

An old story, that was not swept under the carpet but properly and openly dealt with. No score!
