:? Here’s a classic example why “good posters” get ignored and eventually leave!

One of the reasons is because they don’t make bloody sense! To make sense your sentence should’ve been written as follows…

“Forums need a balance; this one was heavily one sided and good posters left while newbies would ask a question and get ridiculed”

If readers are struggling to understand what you’re trying to convey they’ll just skip to the next message, and if you do that to them 3-4 times they’ll just PERMANENTLY erase you from the list of posters they follow!

So… lesson #1: Get your spelling/grammar/syntax right!

Amen? :?

And so we see that 'Part 1' of Conor's campaign has come to a predictable end, predictable to those who (like myself) were neither swayed nor influenced by the warped judgements of Conor's psuedo 'Entourage'.

A singularly bad day for Milo and her ilk, who would have much preferred (and relished the prospect of) many years of incarceration for those who were 'Goaded' into taking the action they took. :bawling: (a small gift to help you get over the disappointment).

Now, let us consider the outcome of the next stage 'Part 2', which is of far greater significance to the reputation of Cyprus than a spanking received by a 'Naughty Boy' from those he antagonized.

The principles of 'Equivalence' must prevail in this case and the Judiciary will no doubt recognize that a rigorous requital must be levied upon the 'Evildoer' lest the instigator profits from the action which requires judicial intervention.

In the case of Cornelius Desmond O'Dwyer, I am of the opinion that HIS actions throughout the transaction under such scrutiny, WERE the reason for ALL the unpleasantaries that developed thereafter.

The fact that Conor (as he is now generally known) is able to produce such an array of 'Self Concocted' evidence, is more of a weakness than a strength since he has encapsulated the bulk of his involvement in the case on both audio and video tapes, freely available to the wide world.

Not such a bad idea initially BUT, when he resorted to filthy language and abuse and directed such to innocent parties, he unwittingly left the door open to certain comparisons of character 'To wit' the vulgar blackguard insults the gentleman, and no more so evident than in the exchange on 'Blog 6 (part 3) on You Tube' when Fotos G Pittadjis received the ultimate insult, far too disgusting to reproduce on this forum (out of deference to the sensibilities of the Ladies).

My OWN opinion (and I could be wrong of course) is that Conor has created his own 'Nemesis' and may well rue the day when he did not accept (contrary to advice given at that time) a sum of money in excess of that which he originally paid.

He also ignored the advice that he should withdraw from his campaign of personal abuse and apologize for his gross misconduct.

Greed may yet be his downfall. (IMHO) as one who is in no way connected to the 'Property industry (for the benefit of Milo)

Have done, in deference to keeping this one devoted to the deep psychological analysis of "Conor" :D

Good post, Schnauzer.

Oracle,
When buying property anywhere, you will have identified in your LEGALLY BINDING contract that the property is Leasehold or Freehold. You DO NOT BUY THEN & FIND OUT AFTER.

The Estate Agent, vendor and solicitor have a legal obligation to inform the buyer. Obviously there are financial considerations to be made when purchasing leasehold. What is the ground rent and the terms of the land owners contract? Can you extend? Expiry date for leasehold. So as you can see, without this information you could end up buying a "pig in a poke"

It is a completely different scenario in Cyprus and well you know. Property is advertised and sold as being freehold and only when the money is paid in full do the "moaning Brits" discover their purchased property has had a mortgage taken out by the developer. This is often done after the searchers have been completed and therefore advocate and buyer think it is safe to proceed. In some cases the advocate knew but failed to bring it to the attention of the buyers.

Your attempt, as always, to make light and excuse the inexcusable regarding the now well publicised and frequently occurring property scams, beggars belief.

Having a mortgage put on your property which could result in the previous owner falling behind with payments and the bank then becoming the legal owners of the property, you have paid for in full, can in no why be compared to the British system of Leasehold and Freehold Properties.

Property purchase in the ROC is unsafe. I note that the BHC have now included warnings about buying property in the ROC when previously the warnings were only directed to purchasers considering buying in the North. What sort of message does this convey?

It would be more constructive to admit the problems and implement some very simple solutions rather than excuse this behaviour. Allowing it to continue is damaging the "everyday citizens" economy, honest workers in the construction industry and doing untold damage to the economy.

"Moaning Brits" "Corrupt Cypriots"

I know which title I would prefer!

One could well associate the story which is unfolding in this case with that of 'Samson and Delilah', there are (in quite an obscure sense) similarities between the demise of Samson and the impending disaster which may well culminate in Conor's catastrophic campaign collapsing.

If one adorns the 'Spectre of Greed' with the apparel of Delilah and Conor with that of Samson, then represents the 'Case' which he offers as the building in which Samson was imprisoned, the scene will be set and the 'Play' may begin.

Conor/Samson has just had his hair trimmed nicely by the Judiciary he so depised, courtesy of his association with (and under the influence of) Delilah/Greed.

The REAL Samson lost his strength when HIS hair was trimmed by the REAL Delilah.

Conor has just had his hair trimmed (metaphorically speaking) as a result of his being influenced by Greed.

Samson was tied to the columns of a building and, with the last dredges of his strength, managed to destroy himself as a final act of defiance (with the help of the Almighty of course).

Conor may well (by virtue of his own actions) witness his own destruction IF the Judiciary rule in favour of the defendants in the case before them.

The likelihood of such a ruling cannot be dismissed since there are areas of contention (particularly in the event that Conor refused the offer of greater reimbursement) where the general conduct and respectability of the parties involved may be taken into consideration.

Fortunately, Conor has had the good sense to ensure that he will be housed in a cardboard structure when his 'Momento de la Verdad' is upon him, I doubt if he will suffer any serious injuries when (if) the structure implodes upon him.

I just hope that my old friend 'Jimmy Light' is not too close to such an event (if it takes place) as the rigours of the outdoor life have weighed sorely upon him in recent years, perhaps his spell in Cyprus (coupled with the renowned generosity of Cypriot hospitality) will help him to recuperate his strength, God Willing.

I didn't bring the UK up, it is not relevant, this is Cyprus [/shrug]

Yes it is, because thats what all the Brits would be comparing it to plus you are trying to make out that things happen in Cyprus that don't elsewhere, hence to comparison to the 'civilised' UK.

B25 wrote: ... he got what the judge was allowed to give them.
Like i asked previously, is it common for there to be a reasoning behind a sentence 'i give him xyz because abc and 123' ?

There is no common or uncommon, the judge takes all the info in and comes out with what he/she thinks suitable as they do in any other country in the world, since you seem to think it is unique here.

B25 wrote: ... Conors success (if could be called that) ...
I would hope it is seen as another clear sign of justice in Cyprus, not specifically a success for Conor.

Conor, was trying to succeed in prosecuting these people and he did and won. The result may not be to his liking, but the guilty verdict IS the result he was after. This of course will help in any further claims he may have against them.

Justice was seen to be done, but to the dissatisfaction to Conor, Milo and their followers not enough blood to satisfy their anger. Tough shit! thats courts for you.

I am/was asking simple unloaded question(s) and not at all trying to make something out of anything, or making any assumptions on what is unique to Cyprus or not unique to Cyprus. I am not trained in the way of any justice system (UK, Cyprus or other) so am not trying to catch anyone out or put them on the spot. As has been said elsewhere 'we' only see the website of Conor and comments on message boards, from that we form our opinions. In the court case perhaps more evidence was presented by either side ...

Anyway, just trying to establish if the sentence is all 'we' (as in the public looking in) are going to get or will the court/judge publish the reasoning and/or other documents (evidence, testimonials etc) relating to the case ... all of which will help 'us' to understand what happened, for better or for worse.
