Occupy The Buffer Zone

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Wake up Humanist. This is exactly the mentality that brought us to this dire position. What do you expect from these people? They were and always will be the biggest enemy of Cyprus.

Bananiot please let me not be misunderstood I still believe that what the TC's are doing in terms of claiming the occupied area as their Country at the exclusion of their compatriots to be unethical. They will realise this once the settlers have taken over and the TC culture is assimilated to mainstream Turkish culture then they will realise the mistakes of self isolation.

Come along chaps and others... please don't spoil what has been up to now a CF rarity, a nice and polite thread, one that has got up to 16 pages without too much of our usual bickering, a thread with a good many FB likes by the way.

May just say this about decision-making in anarchic groups, which seems the way the Occupiers decide matters. For those of you who have no experience in this and a little birdy is telling me that all of you have not the foggiest idea, it's an exhausting process of intense discussion, all ideas and points put forward for discussion are seen to be of equal value and decisions are 100% by consensus, where good ideas, ideas that appeal to all, win. Now that's something that will disappoint all of you cos you all have your own agendas cos the process doesn't lend itself to hijacking or influence by the usual stale ways of thinking.

May also say again, believe this Action won't make THE difference, but it will make a contribution. How big or small a contribution, only time will tell and in the meantime it has achieved what all of you scabby lot and your leaders and the UN and the Great Powers have failed to do in decades... made a small bit of CY Free and Re-United.

So why don't some of you miserable old farts who can, get down to the Buffer Zone on New Year's Eve and see in the New Year in Re-United Free Cyprus.

...here here bill, and welll said.

what are we to do re vp? have Faith, and the Grace to join with other Greeks and Turks who are Cypriots. that way the "Greeks" and the "Turks" which we both seem to loathe can be isolated, able only to speak for themselves.

For those wanting to get in to the festive spirit, another date for your diaries for a Street Parade on Saturday 24th Dec... Xmas Eve at 4pm.

The Street? ... Yes, it's Ledras Street, Nicosia.

Not entirely sure at the mo whether this is part of the Occupation of the Buffer Zone, or an associated group organising this.

Anyway, more info on the street parade at... http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003051621960
