My reason says that Cyprus should do what is on our own interests, just like every other country does. When others start acting based on principles then so should we.

Greece didn't want to divide Cyprus. Greece simply welcomed Cyprus in the united Greek state, just like it happened earlier with several other islands and territories which were liberated from foreign oppressors and united in a free Greek state.
