No more free health services to TCs of "trnc" in the RoC!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

My guess is, all Cypriot citizens living in the free areas of the RoC will be given free health care. The article states 100,000 in the RoC will also have to pay in the future, along with the TCs living in the "trnc". The 100,000 could well be all foreign nationals, but TCs living in the RoC will continue receiving free health care. TC's not living or working in the RoC will be denied free health care in the RoC, just like me as a British citizen living abroad does not qualify to receive free health care in the UK.

Is this discrimination allowed in the EU? is this the democracy, equality and human rights you constantly refer to?

finding it difficult to understand why Cyprus would be held liable by the EU on this since it is the European Commission that has requested this measure specifically as part of the loan conditions.

So what are you saying, that the RoC should provide free health care for all the TCs living and working outside the areas it controls?

Where does discrimination, democracy, equality or human rights play any part in this?

It is Turkey's responsibility to provide the TCs with everything they need as an occupying power in the areas not controlled by the RoC.

Reminding that Turkey recently gave a 5 billion USD loan to the IMF,
Bağış said they could consider helping the Greek Cypriots if such a request was made to the TRNC authorities

By the way 2013-2015 Economic and Financial Cooperation Protocol signed betweenTurkey and TRNC......Turkey will transfer 3 billion Turkish liras for the budgets outlined in the 2013-2015 program that forces the transition to a sustainable economy in the TRNC..............

So what you are saying is, the "trnc" is constantly broke. Got it!

Looks like Turkey will need to give more money to cover the added health care costs of the TCs that's no longer covered by the RoC.

I suppose the TCs in the north can always pay more taxes to cover the extra health care cost if Turkey does not send more money.

Again you prove what a real hypocrite you are, on the one hand you claim TCs are "RoC" citizens because they have claimed passports yet on the other you do not want to take on the responsiblity of providing such services for its citizens. Isnt democracy treating all its citizens equally? yet you discrminate against those that live in the north or because they are TCs. What I claim is if the "RoC" is going to charge those under the poverty line then it will accross the board equal, applicable to all its citizens regardless of ethnic origins that includes 14% of the GCs who will also have to pay, please take not I am not saying TCs should not pay.

VP,

In a democracy there's no such thing as a "free" anything, it's only a perception.

I know that after 441 years of privilege, most TCs will struggle with this concept, but the medicine's are not free and the doctors and nurses are not offering their time for free either, the money has to come from somewhere.

In a democracy this comes from a country taxing its citizens and a tax can be seen as a subscription for living in a country and I'm afraid TCs have not kept their subscription to the RoC up to date.

You once stated that you would rather die than receive treatment from a RoC hospital, so why all the hypocrisy now?

I thought that your prejudice would have welcomed any move that would discourage any TC from using any RoC facilities, "free" or otherwise.

Please read and try to understand what I am saying, if the "RoC" milks the fact that they claim to represent TCs as citizens of the "RoC" then obviously they must have the same responsibilty towards all its citizens, if there is no longer going to be free health care for its citizens living under the poverty line it will also effect 14% of GCs, if thats the case then the TCs should also pay if they choose to use these services, but what in fact the GCs are trying to apply is discrmination against those living in the north which will in turn open the door to people sueing the "RoC".

And I'm saying all RoC citizens will be treated equally with all those living and working in the RoC where it is under the control of the RoC's government, otherwise I should be able to get free health care in the UK also just by arriving in the UK, just because I'm a British Citizen, even though I haven't lived or worked in the UK for many many years. Do you know what the UK will tell me, "pay up pal"! Are you going to say ALL Cypriots with RoC citizenship's around the world should be able to just come to Cyprus and demand free health care even though they live and work abroad? Isn't the same situation with the TCs not living in the RoC controlled areas? Where is the hypocrisy in that?

In any case, shouldn't you be celebrating, that now the "trnc" will be recognized by the world as per your claim for years, should the RoC cut any services from the TCs?
