Well what was the point of telling us to look at that Turkish woman? (im sure you meant to write Turkish Cypriot yeah)...you made no mention of the Greek Cypriot suffering.

No, im sticking up for the truth...I KNOW both parties were equally guilty of violance in that 10-15 year period...but I wont sit back and let crap be written that it was GC who started this...thats Turkish government propaganda bullshit...the same bullshit they come up with about the Armenians and any other ethnic group who tried to stand up to Turkish opression over the past half millenium or so.

and the Enosis movement IS DEAD...but it doesnt mean I dont have empathy with such a movement while we were under oppression from the British or Turks.

I think pushing for enosis before Cyprus acheived its so-called 'independance' was totally justified. The Greek Cypriots (the 82% majority and 3,000 year inhabitants of Cyprus) had been under opression from the Turks for about 350 years...only to be handed to the British, so they could rule us and embarass us. The British lied to us various times that they would give the Greek Cypriots what they wanted and join with Greece like other culturally Greek islands but they fooled us time and time again. Being fooled and embarrassed is not a nice thing and it was our DEMOCRATIC RIGHT to join Greece if the majority of Cypriots wanted to do so. Why should we go on being ruled by the British after we had been ruled by the Turks for so long...in our own home.
