New invasion by Turkey!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby zan » Mon Nov 07, 2005 10:20 am

Can I just ask you all one question? The main sticking point seems to be that in order for any of this to work The Island has to be opened up and the GCs have to return to their homes. Where are the TCs supposed to go? Many did not have homes and lived in poverty because of the troubles; they have nothing to return to. What about the refugees and settlers, on both sides, who ever they are, that I believe are part of Cyprus now through no fault of their own. Do we just uproot them and send them away after thirty years. Let’s have a fair deal? How???

I do have a radical idea though. Let’s leave things as they are except for a couple of things. First of all we put up a three foot fence along the TC side of the green line, (let the GCs have all the land that will be freed up along the line but have a half mile exclusion either side (relaxed for walkers)) and all along the fence both the GC flag and the TRNC flag flying side by side. When we get to the capital Lefcosa/Nicosia, the fence splits in two and goes around the capital. Lefcosa/Nicosia will be the melting pot, if you like, for business and people who want to live there. As the capital expands, so does the fence. Of course the coastal buisnesses have no choice. Perhaps this way through the needs of daily life we can slowly find a way to live together.

ELLASito,

since you always help me by correcting my English, I feel it would only be fair if I return the favor.
I think the correct formulation of your question should be:

Do you actually think that those Turks know what the internet is??

I hope this helps

Unfortunately that is how I had written it, but in the last minute before I posted I decided to change it! Still, it doesnt change anything..you are still WHAT you are..and I am still WHO I am.. :D

But under those circumstances you will return your EUROPEAN passports and id cards! Or pay half of what we spent these last 10 years or so trying to get into the EU!

Hoe does that sound??

Zan,I fully understand your frustration..
The trouble is, i think, that politicians do not share the ordinary people,s frustration and worse, most seem to be well accommodated under the current stagnation.I personally find it difficult to talk seriously on the problem anymore and i think its the only way to stay sane in this insane country..
If i was 20 i think i would turn to anarchy..maybe my friend Birkibrisli has something to say on this...

Sorry, next time you are spouting off racist comments I will of course realise that you are just telling us about your latest culinary triumphs. By the way, do you do your own washing and cleaning or do you employ a little Mongolian woman for that?

My symbolic culinary triumph, which it's not the latest, it's called "The divided Potato":
Cyprus potato, fried, cut in the middle, carnised with tomato ketchup, spinkled with shredded traditional halloumi and finally decorated with a CyR flag.
When we reach to a solution this recipe will change...and I hope it will change very soon.

I'd like to invite you to our house for dinner sometime but I guess you would be afraid that the Gc racists will poison you.

I think perhaps that your traumas are deep and I think it is you that sees enemies and ghosts around you and it is people like you who are to blame to perpetuate hate and intollarance. Perhaps you should turn the coin on the flipside and see the other side's plight. Finally it is clear that you are in the dark.

I didn't know that you have advocate's skills 2Fan...and I guess you cannot help it each time a chance is given to you to practice them.
Anyway...I also didn't know that people get offended when someone reminds them of their roots, sorry.

Anarchy has a lot going for it,Alexios,if it could only be organised. But organised anarchy is an oxymoron, and chaotic anarchy just cannot be organised.
I have a better idea. All TCs who want to be Turks first can go and live in Turkey,in a new town which can be called TRNC,and pretend to be ruling themselves. All GCs who want to be Greeks first can go to Greece and live in a newly built town which can be called the RoC.They can pretend to be an independent nation. Those who want to be Cypriots can stay in Cyprus. But because Cypriots seem to be unable to stand on their own two feet we could invite the UK to come back and rule the island as a British protectorate. We can than form a new undeground movement, and fight the British with water pistols, and demand our independence.By then the whole world will be convinced that all Cypriots are raving lunatics,so the British can turn the island into an open mental hospital and bring in Jewish psychiatrists from Israel to manage the loony farm. You Alexios can have an illusion that you are Archbishop Makarios,President of Cyprus.I can have an illusion that I am Dr Kuchuk, the Vice President of Cyprus. And we could live happily ever after. As long as we don't let Rauf Denktash in if he comes by boat, and has the illusion that he is RAuf Denktash, and we don't let Tassos Papadopoulos in if he claims to be himself,we should pull it off.
