Thank You. I was beginning to think that I was the only one who thought Kifeas was ignorant.

Now, let's get back to OUR IDEAS (and that is all they are) of what we can do to remove the occupation and sort out this Cyprus problem.

By the way Vassos! Viewpoint, a TC, is probably the only one member in the forum, besides some brainwashed Kemalist nationalist Turks, that will agree with your proposals. The only exception is that Viewpoint doesn't accept your 78:22 ration of territory, Viewpoint wants much more! I am sure you will be able to SELL OUT some more of the homeland so that you two will eventually reach an agreement!

Even if you hear of a court located in the middle of hell, do not hesitate; take action there too, even if you will have to use the devil as your attorney. Let me know too!

Beware of your words, some might take them too literally, because soon enough you will be able to apply even to TRNC courts to reclaim your properties.

The 78:22 Ratio on a two-republic solution will happen Kifeas, mark my words.

I don't think we should resort to the Greek/Turk scenario, otherwise we will be no different to the former Denktas. My main aim is to SEEK an acceptable formula, as either side will no be able to gain everything.

No Taksim
No Enosis
No 50/50
No Federal unification
No unrealistic formula.

78/22, that is the way forward.

Do any of you really think that there is a solution to this mess?, not being either of Turkish Or Greek Cypriot nationality, and sitting out in the dark as to speak, it just seems one great big angry mess that keeps going around and around, because as far as I can see, every side is guilty of some crime.!!

beware

Kifeas, Turks are dangerous people...you don't loosen your end of the rope in this tug of war and in dealing with them, they'll just pull the rope harder and tighter towards themselves the more you loosen your grip...that's why we keep a tight lid on our Azerbaijanis in Iran...give them an inch, they'll take a mile...Azeris, typical Turks, themselves have a saying, "Gonaga uz versen, bashuva chixar" (If you give a guest "face" [meaning embolden a guest, in your house that is], he will climb over your head".

Whatever decisions you make, make sure they are wise ones...these people don't know when to stop...even with their conquests there was no stopping them, since they are born to sack and conquer...that's all they know.

Iran, I have as much of a problem and a dislike of the Turkish State's official and dominating ideology as you do, but I wouldn't want to generalize this and convert it into a racial issue. To say that all the people born Turks or in Turkey, know and want to do is to "sack and conquer," is not an appropriate way of approaching thinks. Yes there is a huge problem with the totalitarian and nationals kemalist ideology that rules over the Turkish people, and I would like to see it changing or collapsing for the sake of regional peace, and for the Turkish people themselves, but branding an entire people of 70 million as mere looters and grabbers is a view I do not share.

I agree with you Kifeas, I am really attacking the Kemalist, pan-Turanist, pan-Turkist, Bozkurt ideology, not individual Turks, believe me. There are Turkish individuals like the modern Turkish writer Orhan Pamuk who even recognize the Armenian Genocide.

French TV crew fined filming north Cyprus ghost town

Tuesday, November 07, 2006

NICOSIA - A French TV crew was arrested and fined for filming the ghost town of Varosha in northern Cyprus, rights groups said on Monday, just days before the European Union is expected to criticise Turkey over its Cyprus policy.

Two journalists working for German-French public channel ARTE were arrested on Sunday for allegedly violating the military restricted area by filming the former Greek Cypriot holiday resort now under Turkish Cypriot control.

"We strongly condemn the arrests of journalists who are just doing their job," European Federation of Journalists Chairman Arne Konig said in a statement.
