If there’s a God out there eavesdropping he must be cracking up all the time!

Maybe our very stupidity is what entertains him…

We already are achieving the unachievable so just imagine what will happen in another 100 years of Human Development! :D

Religion was around long before any of you smartasses were even conceived.
Long before 'Iran' 'TV evangelists' and 'British Muslim blood thirsty clerics'

Give a man 50 years on the planet, and he thinks he knows everything.

Yep it sure was around when the vast majority was illiterate and herding goats in the fields!

Certainly a lot less strong now with better literacy and standards of living!

It's the exact same reason why religiosity is also massive in the Third World - poverty and low literacy and education standards.

Yeah, science proved the flat earth theory wrong, among a multitude of other theories.
Science has still got their cock on a block trying to kill Christianity. Aint so easy is it?
Poor sods, Give them credit for trying.

Actually no! I don't know of any Scientists trying to kill off any religions let alone Christianity.

There are some famous Scientists, particularly Biologists who have destroyed so much by discovering the Theories of Evolution and Natural Selection but inevitably there will still be some rednecks in the deep South of USA, Cyprus and Greece who will struggle with the Science and still believe in immaculate conception and Adam and Eve. Science can not eradicate utter stupidity I'm afraid! :(

I think that could be said of anyone spouting religious mumbo jumbo. Many Religions represent an attempt to explain the universe with out the benefit of science and are corrupted to become a form of thought control used to dominate the masses and maintain power for an elite. Look e.g. at Iran, where free thinking risks getting one tried as an enemy of God. Same in Medieval Europe. The Moslems are still at that stage.

Exact ly, everyone hates a preacher and poor GR is doing a fine job!

You mean like when you were preaching “Australian detection systems” for 120 pages recently in another thread?

Another example of Human Achievement against impossible odds. That is an example of how far we have come and the fact that they are still conducting the biggest search in Human history seems to underline humanities tenacity and will to achieve some good.

You won't see these searchers heaving praise to Allah that's for sure. Just very well trained and committed individuals.

That's because they need a high IQ to read between the lines and discover the hidden messages disguised with a rather unique humour! :D

Furthermore Cap, I believe religiosity will be decimated when and if Humanity eliminates global poverty and illiteracy, and even then it will still take a generation or 2.

That is exactly what religions rely on to thrive - the weak, vulnerable, poor and uneducated!
