It's not a coincidence.

Neither is it a coincidence that under German hegemony and German financial institutional dominance the wider European economy has been a disaster zone the last few years.

Rats arse! They bailed your arses out and now they own you and are dictating to you.

You can't call Germany a disaster.

Oh for God's sake. Just read the bloody article I posted. There is no desire for Cretan autonomy.

There is more chance that Yorkshire will become independent first.

I read your bogus article. Since when can this article speak for all Cretans?

That article was just wishful thinking opinion.

That's interesting because around half of all cars in Crete either display the Cretan State Symbol or their flag.

I've been to Crete and I didn't notice such thing. On the other hand when I went to the USA a few years ago, in the south there were a lot of people displaying the confederation flag ... and yet there is no real demand for spiting USA.

Same applies to the US. Why not?

Now, I said in my opening post that I do not support this in Crete's case.

However, there were a few here gloating about the Scottish Referendum. There was zero concern on whether the Scots would vote for the best thing whatever that is or their wellbeing. They couldn't give a stuff.

In this thread, the shoe is on the other foot, and it has exposed you all.

It would be nice for a little humility and respect from Cypriots on this forum because the Scots had to make a serious decision with very serious consequences for them and their land.

The only state in the USA that would make sense to separate from the rest of the country would be California, which is the economic powerhouse in the USA. As an "Independent California", it would have the world's 7th largest economy. The only problem for California is, being in a True Federation, ALL other 49 states would need to agree for California to secede from the Union. Good luck!

Paphitis wrote:Now I do not support an independence referendum for Crete. They are deluded to think they can go it alone. :)

However, the voices of Cretan self determination are growing.

Since we have a number of democrats on this forum (YiaLoser, Kurupetos et al) then I presume they too will jump on this bandwagon and support a referendum for Cretans to have their say about their independence from Greece.

It was extremely touching to see fellow members care so much for the Scots, that I have no doubt that this is extended to Crete.

Keep entertaining us, little koala. It's all good.

The US will eventually split to many pieces. It's the fate of multicultural, multiracial countries.

I can assist Psoritis in this thread… but in exchange he has to admit that he has the IQ of a drunken aboriginal with a bottle firmly lodged up his bum.

PS: My offer is non negotiable.
