:? What siege? Whom did that idiot Abbot "shirtfront" this time?

I think he was kept quiet and out of sight for a while, hence a swift-ish resolution. :P

Has he found that airplane yet?

Abbott is a very strong leader in these situations.

He has taken an international leadership role in placing sanctions on Russia due to the Ukraine invasion and MH17.

He recently invited Ukrainian President on an official visit. He is said to be the most popular political figure in Ukraine.

He as PM also heads the Australian Security Council which convenes for matters of National Security. At no stage would he permit to meet any demands of a terrorist.

Terrorist events like this are a matter for the Police.

The police's hand was forced. They Australians would have been very happy to stretch this out as long as no one was being hurt. Storming the building was not the preferred option because it endangers innocent people trapped inside.

Oh have you found it or anyone else for that matter? What a cheeky comment.

Yeh well, all of a sudden, Australia is tasked with the most difficult, near impossible search for MH370 and that is all you can say?

They are still looking. The search is costing a fortune.

Frankly, it say's a lot about Australia to be doing this in the face of almost impossible odds. The search will go on until the end of 2015 by the time they map and scan the entire seabed at 4000m no less.

Air France had ACARS position logs, sent back to Air France Operations and Airbus. MH370 had nothing apart from a satellite ping which they could only use to calculate the Doppler effect by comparing the ping times between the same Satellite and other aircraft in the area. It still took them over a year to find Air France.

The Australian Authorities still believe they will find MH370. There is no room for failure, expectations are always high, and they don't give in easily. They are a frontier people kori - tough as nails.

Such a tragedy. A young mother of 3 popping in to have a morning coffee murdered by a religious psychopath. The young man too, may they RIP.

Its time the civilized world adopts a tougher policy in dealing with the spread of this horrid desease that values death more than life. No doubt to some fanatics this lunatic will be a martyr !!

Let's just put things into a bit of perspective.

The Taliban just attacked a school in Pakistan and killed 120 people. Among the dead were 80+ children.

What a tragedy!

Driven by a sick religious ideology these savages will commit the most abhorrent acts, no doubt praising their non existent god as they begun the murder of innocent children.

while we are on perspective and savagery consider how many people have been murdered during the iraq invasion between 2003 and 2007.

1.033 million people.

you wonder why they stopped counting.

Muslims hate nothing more than their own. It's a self destructive illness.
