Just arrived there today. Always great to be in Greece. Cyprus is not as good inmho.

Greeks are spirited and speaking to a few of the the locals, an OXI is on the cards. Amazing resilience against all odds.

30% unemployment +half the rest=65% OXI.(my prediction)

For all of you guys who doubted Paphitis sentiment and Pyro's math power.

For some levity.

The meeting of all political party leaders (not the fascists though) in ongoing at the presidential residence.

All foreign reporters are gathered outside waiting to be briefed.

A Greek colleague goes the kafetzis serving the presidential residence. "What did they order" he asks

"Tostakia" says the kafetzis.

"Meeting protracted, to last well past lunch time" reports the Greek reporter on the radio. The foreign dudes are still waiting for the briefing. The Greek figured that they ordered toasted sandwiches so the meeting would last some time.

Rumor has it that one antique dealer is panicking re the possible control over safe deposit contents. Evil tongues say that he placed a valuable collection of antique ivory dildoes in his thyrida.

A few minutes ago the party leaders exited the meeting, announcing that all of them, except the communist party, agree to the signing of a new agreement with the Troika.

So who won last night? The yes or the no? As always in Greece it is hard to tell.

What the ballot said was to accept or reject the notion of a new agreement and it was rejected only to be implemented twelve hours later.

To add some tidbits. French president Olland is said to have asked for a joint statement by the five party leaders interpreting the No vote as a Yes vote, and they agreed. We will verify it when the common communique is issued in an hour or so.

So what was the vote last night? 62 per cent No interpreted as Yes at the request of the French president is a safe guess. Yes sir, these are truly historical moments.

Let's face it Nikitas.with all this fuss Greece gained from forcing everybody to drop the veils. Now everybody knows and understands that austerity measures without economic growth lead to more dept. Now everybody knows that Greece needs restructuring of dept.
It revealed that there are competitors to EU lining up to host Greece (Russia, China etc), it revealed Greece's role as a frontier curtain to terrorism and illegal immigration to Europe. All those things were known but somehow underestimated by the Europeans, who got to realise their extend when Grexit came so near.
You may wonder if Greece's backtrack worth these gains.
It sure deos. Because without those gains Greece was doomed for eternity. Now there is hope.
