Kuwait, and the Emirates don't have to take 4 million people and no one in their right mind expects them to.

No Max, my point is that these are not Economic refugees and that they have just as much right to seek asylum in Cyprus as any other signatory State to the 1951 UNHCR Convention.

Also, my point is that Cypriots are much more compassionate people that any American or Australian is and would welcome ANY Syrian Refugee who makes a legitimate claim for asylum in the RoC!

This despite the fact that the Americans are the biggest contributor of aid by a longshot! DANG Amerikanodaktilo!

* Well, the media reports it as a migrant crisis.
* If they were refugees, they would have to prove that on a case by case basis.
* They are being smuggled in by human traffickers on a mass organized scale.
* Not all are Syrian.
* They are migrating to countries with the most benefits.
* They will disrupt social service and scuffle with security personal or the authorities until the above happens.
* They have not been vetted, processed or registered and they refuse to be. So far.
* They will demand work, social benefits a better way of life and rights.

on a whole, they sound more like illegal immigrants to me. Some legitimate cases might be there though.

Don't be so naïve, Cypriots go to these countries not because quality of life is better than Cyprus but for economic reasons, like you for instance.
