russia does not have to declare war. if terggish soldiers are in northern syria and they get attacked by russia, terggy is hardly likely to allow the rusian to transport weaponry they will fire on mehmetcik through the straits.

Well that might be the next move.

Since Pootin has only made noise, maybe the next thing is to encourage a Turkish Invadion of Syria at which point Pootin and Erdogan will quickly lock horns.

It might be that the coalition is hell bent on getting Turkey to shut the straights and all actions seem to be pointing in this direction and an eventual war between Russia and NATO + coalition.

Pootin will need a cool head otherwise things will get very dangerous.

If Turkish soldiers do enter Syria, a dream come true for the Americans by the way to facilitate Turkey's break-up, they will be no different than any other terrorist groups in Syria, so they will be at the receiving end of the Russians and Assad's forces. If Turkey then decides to close the straits to the Russians ships, then Russia will close the whole straits by bringing down the two bridges going across the straits. Russian Naval forces have other ports they can use other than the ones on the Black Sea.

There are news reports that America has requested Turkey move an additional 30,000 troops onto their border with Syria.

This is a significant build up and it seems to be endorsed by Obama too.

It's not a reliable source though.

The term "Roman" does not refer to an ethnicity. As it is mentioned in the video ethnicities as they exist today did not exist in that time. While the empire obviously had a lot of different people (like every other empire) the western (and parts of the northern) coast of Anatolia had a Greek population since before the empire was created. Clearly the land that the Greeks could take back are those specific territories. The Kurds and Armenians should take the eastern parts. I think the Turks can all fit in the center of Anatolia... especially after their population is adjusted based on the formula "kill 1 Turk for every Greek, Armenian, Kurd etc the Turks have ever killed" ;)

The Internet is full of reports that Turkey is already conducting a defacto blockade of any Russian shipping through the Bosphorus. There are multiple Russian Ships which are reportedly dead in the water in the Boack Sea and Mediterranean.

Plenty of sources saying this but just waiting to get from a reputable source. Apparently CNN have reported this too but I can't seem to find it.

Looks like it's starting to get very serious.

It will be interesting to see if they divide up Syria somehow. Turkey is desperate to stop a Syrian Kurdish state on its borders. Assad is here to stay as the Russians need the base.

There are always ships waiting for periods of time to cross the straits due to heavy traffic, specially if the weather is bad where visibility is limited, so nothing new there and one should not read anything into if there are also some Russian ships waiting to access the straits. That's where the canal idea has come, is to offer ships a faster and safer transit at a price, of course.
