" What got to him was all the family fueding ala Cypriot fucked in the head style family shit. "
You do talk a load of crap mate don't you.

He was a great star, admired by millions the world over. He could not handle his fame and success . Was his family " fucked in the head" when George was arrested for committing a lewd act in a public toilet, should they have sent him congratulatory messages? Should they have been proud of hi cruising around north London looking for casual sex? Or applaud his cocaine habit?

I knew the father. A hard working Cypriot immigrant. Many many years ago before he started his own restaurant. He, the father, was not " fucked in the head"
May George RIP. HE AND ONLY HE CONTRIBUTED TO HIS DEATH. Just as Elvis did.

I doubt it's a coincidence that Carrie Fisher, who like George spent many years dealing with her fame by substance abuse, has also just died suddenly, at a relatively young age, from heart failure. There's an inevitable price for such behaviour and a long list of celebrities who have ultimately paid it.

Drug abuse is the predominant cause of premature deaths amongst celebrities. Money, fame adulation and in some case apotheosis leads to increased dependency on drugs. It can also happen to many more from other fields of life.

Success isn't always good for your health. Neither is an abundance of money. Family life, responsibilities such as bringing up a family, paying off your mortgage although strenuous at times can all contribute to a naturally long life. Two Christmases ago a very successful Italian restaurateur in London and a good customer of mine hanged himself on Christmas eve. He was a very successful man, a very good looking and charming Italian guy, only 38 years old. He was not only a cocaine user but was also addicted to gambling. He left behind a partner and a little 4 year old girl. What a waste.

Anyone who things that experimenting with drugs is safe ought to think twice. Drugs are a killer, why take them, why not some red wine which is GOOD for you.

I believe George Michael was set up because of his fame and who he was.

And yes, I believe there are big issues which his family need to come to terms with at this point in time. It's too late to tell him they love him now. Far too late!

As a father,I can honestly say that I don't think I can ever disown my kids - Son or Daughter. I can be disappointed of course, but I can't go all the way.

George Michael was a great ambassador. It would be a great challenge to be who he is with a conservative family.

He handled his fame and fortune very well. He was also very generous with his money. He also came out on top. But he didn't have the support of his family when he needed it most.

What we have here are societal issues. We are all judge mental about this so called "lewd" conduct. But how lewd was it and did the cops frame him? Something doesn't add it up sorry.

Then we will talk about his sexuality. Not just his but everyone's. Who's business is it really?

Then we say he is a Drug User. Sorry but drug use is more a reflection on society than it is on the user.

There are so many non drug users who are not pure in spirit. Contaminated and poisonous. George Michael wasn't.

If he really loved his parents and wanted to be loved by them he shouldn't have revealed it.
He did it just to hurt them.
I know many people who are gays, they usually go live in another town far away from where their parents live. Everybody suspects they are gay, even their parents, but they still don't tell and everybody is happy.
You too Paphitis -supposedly one day your son or daughter would come throw at your face s/he is gay would have every right to ask him or her: And was it soo necessary to tell me?

Besides not all gays are the same. There's that specific category who are born trapped in the wrong body. I had a classmate who was playing with dolls from childhood. It would be a sin to reject such a child, and in fact this particular guy was never rejected by his family or anyone else he even joined our last reunion accompanied by his sister, and nobody said a word.

I had an incident with this guy when I was a kid. His mother urged my mother to go visit them and play with him. They were rich and his bedroom was full of male toys, lead soldiers, "podosferaki" (how the hell is that called in English) guns, whathaveyou. I got thrilled from all those toys, but by the minute I touched them and disturbed the tidy order he had them, he got angry and started screaming like crazy.
I told myself what is this guy, he has so many toys and all he cares is just to have them tidy in his room?? Very strange! I never went to his house to play ever since. I had other more "normal" friends...
