Sad indeed. Almost prophetically, "Last Christmas" seems to have been playing everywhere in the past few days. RIP.

What an extraordinary year 2016 has been for celebrity deaths.

Very sad, bad news. :(

He was deeply troubled after he lost his mum. Seemed to lose his way. I think he was greatly damaged by the people in the industry he was involved in - but ultimately remained a lovely, sensitive person.

Condolences to his family and friends - and RIP to George.

It is becoming a common thing, that celebrities work hard, play hard and die hard (young)!

I think it must be a brutally demanding, incredibly difficult life - never mind the money and fame - and although I am never surprised when any such entertainers die young, I am always sorry.

Indeed, RiP.

A talented performer as his post-"Wham" work so well showed, and as we now know a generous man who never sought publicity for that. That is the true mark of the man.
He was likely sadly brought down by the substance abuse for which he was rather better known. A waste.

Very sad.

Loved the man as a kid.
A talented Englishman, where the UK gave him the opportunity for greatness.
His ancestral Patriki village, Republic of Cyprus, unfortunately now occupied Famagusta district should be proud.

I don't think it's for you to politicize his life, Cap.

RIP

He was a very talented individual, and descent human being. Fame and fortune never got to him. What got to him was all the family fueding ala Cypriot fucked in the head style family shit.

But he lived on his terms. He lived hard and played hard.

People need to stop judging him and look at themselves before talking about the industry which is supposed to have led him astray. That implies he was of weak character. I believe he was strong and very brave.

Society is astray if anything, and there is more nobility in the industry than society itself because he had people that were loyal to him for life even when his family wasn't. His industry is closely woven.

You choose theses people but you can't choose your family.
