UNITARY or PARTITION - NO "Federal" Middle Ground!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

rw communal chamber is from the 1960 constitution. that was lost in 1963. it is 55 years too late for it to have any meaning now. we only have bbf or two state solution available. who is to blame is not relevant. that is where we are. akinci by saying he accepts guterres framework well and truly shut anastasiades up. he has no response to that other than repeat like a parrot to conrinue to negotiate where they left off. if it was possible to negotiate from where they left off the talks would not have collapsed.

unitary state is an illusion which on the surface look ideal solution but we are a million miles from there. roc has never in all its existance been a normal state. just lokk at a state that has no national anthem and uses the greek one. the ng is controlled by another nation. its educayion system controlled by the church. never mind normal state roc belongs to the 1500s if she is lucky.

the time is up. only a twostate solution wil lwork now wether it is confederation or two state solution. it seems dengtash was right all along, gcs do not want tcs in their state. sad but i am afraid very true.

Lordo wrote:rw how on earth can you come to such judgment about akinci when
1. he has said he accepts the guterres framework when erdogan and anastasiades do not
2. he accepted that gurantees can be replaced by implementation plan and and so has erdogan but anastasiades does not
3. he accepts that ta will be reduced very rapidly according to implementation plan with the old numbers from 1960 agreement and they would be reviewd in the future.
4. anastasiades has gone back and no longer supports rotating presidency even though it has been agreed and signed
5. anastasiades has gone back on the political equality at the federal level even though it has been signed
6. anastasiades has gone back on his word and now demands that troops and guarantees must go from day one instead of accroding to the implementation plan.
7 in saying he wants a normal country what he means is a unitary state with one man one vote without saying it so everybody can have no doubt about what he is saying. i would have a lot more respect for him if he came out and said it and he has every right to ask for it. but the tcs have every right to refuse it and demand a two state solution if unitary state is what he is after.

it is time that he grew some balls and say what he means and it is not just him, quite a few people here seems lost theirs too.

there is a very old saying you can take the donkey to the water but you cannot make it drink.

Unless all is agreed nothing is agreed, that is the mantra of these talks for the past 44 years, I don’t know where you get your info but from what I’m hearing is that the EU will not accept guarantees and troops.. Chrisodoulides is on record saying the RoC does not hold onto the idea of zero troops zero guarantees... I’m not in favor of this BBF crap but what powers will the federal government have when most of the powers go to the states, which probably will reach (power to the states) of 99%. Denktash put all this in your heads and you haven’t realized it yet..

when the europeans manage to remove the ameriicans and the british soldiers and the american guarantee from europe they can talk. they have already accpeted roc into the eu with tc troops and guarantees in place. it is a bit late asking for them to be removed no my friend. basic logic seems to have evaded your brain today. how can they nor accpet something they already have accepted.
