There you go, I inserted a line feed... the first person is a classic user (no idea who) and the second visitor is running some weird user agent (browser).

Pyrpolizer wrote:b)you never explained how you knew Piratis has downloaded your browser when Sotos asked.

I didn't... I simply commented that he went from http to https by paying for a "security" certificate. That's the day when the CF changed.

Pyrpolizer wrote:And c)You just admitted you do collect information.

Awstats tells me how many downloads, hours/days/months, what browsers are visiting, how many bots/humans, etc. Standard stats used by all.
Actually, mine is primitive compared to what others are using.

Pyrpolizer wrote:Whether that's less than what other browsers collect is irrelevant.
You claim you are providing a browser which guarantees 100% privacy. You just trashed the main reason anyone would want to use it.

I'm talking about visits to my WEBSITE, not using the browser!

Pyro, Chrome phones home to no less than 11 servers including...

1. google search domain check url
2. connectivity check url
3. crash server url
4. attestation server
5. gcm checkin url
6. gcm mcs endpoint
7. gcm registration url
8. google base url
9. homepage
10. google apis url
11. cryptauth http host

 I redirect ALL these paths to point to http://127.0.0.1/

Pyro, the next time you pass by a church go light a candle to thank God that I put 2 years of my life to save your sorry arses.

Catch you people later...

You’ll know if I ever become the owner here because I’ll ban most of you for annoying me. You think he and I have the same tolerance?

So is it a 'known fact' that Piratis is in fact the CF owner / admin ? Is this what you are telling me ? Not that I care particularly but my impression has always been that this was not, till now, 'public' information ?

Oh God…no there is no “known fact”… I had a guess and just exchanged a pm with Sotos. I don’t want to get into who is the admin because I don’t care… am just grateful that he tolerates me.

Listen, if I would personally do such a program (and i really I did some other programs) I would tell the whole truth straight to anyone who might have asked as follows:

a)I did it to primarily serve MY OWN needs..
b)I share it free of charge with anyone who wants it because I dodn't care about making any money out of it.
c)I refuse to pay anyone to get a certificate, so those who don't know me personally or can't trust my integrity and my word of honor that it doesn't contain any viruses or spyware, better not use it.

The problem with you is that we know you (almost) personally, and we can't trust your integrity.
Now whose fault is that?

That’s an easy one… your sense of judgment stinks.

That is the wrong question. The right question is

Is this piece of unknown to me code more likely to not have 'malware' in it if it has a certificate than if it does not have any such certificate ? The answer is yes it is more likely to not have malware if it has such a certificate. You can choose to pay in order to be able to present your code as less likely to contain malware or not as you wish and that is for you a deal and you can take it or leave it. For me there is no deal involved, there is just the probabilities that a given piece of unknown to me code does or does not have malware in it.

Sure, if you recognize that kind of “certification” why don’t you all chip in and I’ll get you one?

Don’t look at me… I’m no sucker… I ain’t paying for garbage.
