To the point where I would happily fork out the €100 if we got together for a beer.

I imagine that's a bit of a problem though - given all the harsh words

Milti would, I have no doubt, vouch for me as a neutral agent.

How about you transfer €100 to my account and I mail you a KEO bottle... with half the beer still inside!?

Have a look at wife #34 here... she decides to join in wife #47 in a joint "push" to get me!

Oh and don't be surprised if wife #17 comes and joins them soon too...

Actually I need about €200 to do that. Properly resealing an opened bottle so that the rest of the beer stays inside while shipped is not an easy task. And if any of my teeth break in the process you will have to pay the dentist's bill too. Still a great deal for you!

After I posted the terms of the bet, you re-quoted them back to me, complete with the word loose in it and then said "Yeah, that sounds reasonable. You're on for €100." cyprus44835-210.html#p843266

Now being as fair to you as possible I actually think it is most likely that you did misunderstand the bet, in your own head. But that is your misunderstanding not mine and it is nothing to do with the word 'loose' rather than 'lose'. If you remove that part entirely, you still misunderstood the bet. Even if the bet was "remain have to win by more than 60% for you to win. 60% or less, and I win". There is a full stop between the two things. Your win condition does have 'if they win and' which is superfluous because its is not possible to not win and get 60% or over. There is no connection between that and my 'win condition' which was solely '60% or less, I win'. The full stop clearly and definitivley sperates your win condition and mention of winning from mine , with no such mention of winning. The notion that my win condition as written and as re-quote by you and accepted by you, was 'they must win but win with less than 60%' is entirely your misunderstanding and your mistake ans something that existed only in your head and nothing to do with the use of the word 'loose'.

So here is a proposal for you. Just accept that you misunderstood the bet and that your not paying is based on your misunderstanding and I will never mention it again on this forum. Unlikely I know but the offer is there. Hell you can even do so via a private message if you like and I will stick to my side of this proposal.

Erolz if I remember well the majority of the forum agreed that he lost the bet and then refused to pay.
So why are you trying to make things easier for him?
Let him stew in his own juice.

I would not exclude the possibility of a combination of both myself ;)

You miserable lot should consider yourselves very lucky I don’t charge you to read my posts!

That’s how nice a person I am… always had a soft spot for the mentally challenged.

However, as of next year I *may* introduce a “pay-as-you-read” scheme… so get your credit cards ready boys & girls just in case. 8)

For those who had issues with AJAX… you’ll be pleased to know that it’s not a dish-washing detergent in the computer world:
