You need to grow a brain and smarten up.

Britain has no choice but to stand against the EU for they are extremely arrogant and recalcitrant as we all know.

One day Miltiades, you are going to have to attain some self respect and dignity because not everything is about money.

Britain has been just fine for many centuries without any EU and they will be ok again standing on their own 2 feet just like other countries do which are far more smaller than they are (Australia and Canada)

Once you sell out, there is no turning back and all the money in the world will not save you.

That doesn't mean anything and as I told you before, a lower devalued currency is good for exports.

In fact some countries actively seek to devalue their currency for this purpose. China and USA are trying to devalue their currency because of their trade war. Australia is currently embarking on a sustained program of AUD devaluation to stimulate export earnings as well.

What the British are doing here will be remembered for many decades. They are making a run for it and I guarantee you than in 20 years from now, they won't be looking back. The British are not some plebs. They can stand on their feet and they have solid friends they can draw from if worse comes to worse.

There is nothing at all funny about it.

What the British have decided to do will be remembered and should be respected.

they have basically turned around to the EU and told them they don't want to surrender any power to them and that they want to go their separate ways. Nothing more admirable than this.

When the EU is in flames, they will weather the storm and stand on their own feet like the always have.

You keep harping on about the Sterling, but the Sterling still remains one of the best currencies on the planet and will remain so for many decades to come.

No, not The British. A tiny minority did, geriatrics and small minded little Englanders. By the way, you just quoted what Erdogan recently said about the Turkish lira !! Look mate, try using your brain. We import far more than we export, a weak sterling will not make our exports to our largest customer ie. The EU cheaper since they will liable to import tariffs. Any other clever ideas as to why Stg is plummeting??

17,500,000 is not a tiny minority. And they will be more now.

No the Sterling is NOT plummeting. You don't know what a plummet is.

I don't give a stuff about the Turkish Lira. Turkey is NOT Britain.

Remoaners are very disingenuous. It is very likely that even if there is a NO DEAL BREXIT, Britain will still be trading with the EU under the current full membership conditions for 2 years till a FTD is negotiated.

So in other words, no affect on the British Economy at all aside for the 20 billion Pounds Britain will save per year.

Paphitis, China can afford to devalue it‘s currency to increase exports. For one, they export more than they import, and secondly, which is a major plus for China, it‘s vast majority Chinese can live on little, mostly home produce items and food. It is not like the poor people of China are importing expensive foreign goods. Take a look at the Chinese GDP per capital vs. the UKs. There is no comparison. Chinese can survive on a bowl of rice. Not the same with the Brits, the Aussies or the Yanks.

Well if what she say's is true, it is the EU that is causing the problems with the Irish backstop which the British Parliament don't want to accept.

Therefore, NO DEAL BREXIT is a the default position.

BOJO has to stick to his guns now and refuse to even go to Strasbourg and meet with any EU blackmailers.

Let the count down begin...

The French MEP was spot on with her every point.

You have to understand that, the UK has been a cry baby in wanting special treatment from the EU ever since they became a member and they are still doing it. The EU has had enough of the UK‘s BS, so they are now telling the UK, we are not going to take away the backstop, to make sure the Good Friday agreement does not get watered down, which the UK themselves are signatory to that agreement. Sounds to me like, the EU has been expecting a no deal Brexit for a long time and they have been prepared for it, knowing that the UK would always come back for more concessions from the EU no matter how much the EU gave the cry babies. The problem now lies with the British parliament and the British people to sort out their own crap on Brexit, because the EU is not willing to play Boris‘s/Trump’s games.

Kikapu,

I actually can't believe you think this. This is sheer arrogance from the EU and this particular MEP.

never before has so much disrespect been shown for what is suppose to be a sovereign country.

It just reinforces my idea that Britain is doing the right thing and must proceed with NO DEAL BREXIT.

I think BOJO shouldn't even meet with them. If they are not willing to play ball, then NO DEAL exit is the default stance.

As a British, an American and a Cypriot, I do not hold back criticizing my people when it is warranted.
Brexit is just one of them
