...so beyond water and electricity, who would have thought there is something more to sell of the so called TRNC.

Meanwhile, reactions have also been recorded by at least three Turkish Cypriot labour unions, namely the labour union of electricity workers, teachers and public servants (BES)

According to Turkish Cypriot reports, the head of labour union of electricity workers declared they will not allow the plans to pass, saying they concern “regression”. They refer to the protocol’s provisions on the privatisation of the ports, the abolition of collective labour agreements and reducing the rights of public servants.

...never mind that insulting Tatar is now illegal.

what do you expect?

They are indebted to the Turks.

They pay, they call the shots.

What they are aiming for though, is for the GC's or the Turks to pay and they call the shots....

No wonder they are where they are.

“Politicians who were not given the power from society to sign such protocols did so in the past, but they could not implement them and their political life ended,” he said. “We would like to remind today’s politicians of this”.

The protocol was signed,

For a meager $240 million aid package, they signed away democratic rights and freedoms, strengthened the role of Islam in the occupied areas. Gave away their power production, now have higher taxes and have to work longer before retiring. Further to that, they have given Turkey even more say in the bureaucracy that is known as the "government". Basically, Turkey has annexed the north in all but name.

There doesn't seem much the TC can do now either. This is the culmination of many many bad choices over the years. On the one hand, they have rogue regressive and oppressive Turkey. On the other hand, they had freedom and democracy in an EU member state with a higher GDP per capita. They kept choosing the former option while trying to oppress the latter in to accepting unacceptable "solutions".

Unless the TC's wake up and fight back, this event is the flash point of their extinction.

But I think it is too late, they got what they were bargaining for and this is the end of their sham "nation".

The moral of the story is; be careful what you wish for, and Do on to others as you would have others do on to you.
