I think Trump has even lied about having the Coronavirus himself. He wanted to project himself as a Super Human, who has defeated the virus in just few days, that he is a godsend. What a cunt! :)

Or he did get it. Not very hard to believe as his campaign has been identified as a cluster now.

His grand son also got it just today. Btw, you don’t need to be superhuman to survive it. 99.63 percent or 99.83 percent of carriers will survive. Depending on which figure you want to believe.

It’s not as if you will drop like a fly if you get it, but judging by the over reaction you would believe it is Armageddon.

A man like Trump with his age and not so good physical condition who allegedly was put on oxygen, would have had worse case of Covid, but no, not Trump. It was also alleged that he was wearing a Superman T- shirt which at one point he was going to remove his shirt to project himself as Superman to please his supporters. I guess he forgot Superman also wore a cape. :D

You are drawing a very long bow here. Trump is in very good health. Some people have those genes. He is well built and resilient and his age isn’t old enough to give him the death sentence from COVID.

So many people over 70 have no symptoms. It’s only when you have other complications such as Asthma, Bronchitis, Diabetes when things can get ugly but still no death sentence.

...back to reality; a second wave or complacency?

It is so hard to know what to believe. The impression was created back in March/April that UK hospitals were being overwhelmed, yet now the Daily Telegraph tells us with reference to that period:

'Protect the NHS' message led to 90 per cent drop in hospital admissions

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/1 ... dmissions/

while regarding the Nightingale Hospitals, hurriedly constructed to cope with the expected massive surge of patients, we learn:

“Five emergency hospitals, with the capacity to treat almost 10 000 covid-19 cases, were opened last month at sites across the country for fear the NHS might be overwhelmed following scenes of northern Italian intensive care units swamped with seriously ill patients.

But such high demand for intensive care never materialised. Just 51 patients have been treated at the 4000 bed medical facility situated in the refurbished Excel Centre in London’s Docklands since it opened. Nightingale units in Birmingham and Harrogate have not treated a single patient, while a facility in Manchester has had just a handful of admissions.”

Yes, if you listen to the NBC report, you get the impression that hospitals are overwhelmed, but is this the true picture?

If you look at the graph "Current hospitalizations" on the following page you will see, yes, that the number has risen since it bottomed on September 26, but yesterday's national figure for the USA of 36,428 is well below the 59,718 shown for July 23.

...and in Cyprus,

"...with the case fatality rate standing at 1.2% until October 20. The reproduction number in Cyprus is between 1.5 and 2."

"Face masks must be worn outside at all times, the Cabinet decided on Thursday. Moreover, stricter measures apply in all districts and partial lockdown with ban on movement will apply for Limassol and Paphos, as the epidemiological situation in these areas is alarming.

Announcing the decisions Health Minister Constantinos Ioannou said that all measures come into force tomorrow, with a new decree, until November 9"

At a time when the mainstream media is censoring all views that deviate in any way from the narrative around Covid it is promoting non-stop and material containing dissenting views is taken down from the internet, it is good to see the Cyprus Mail permitting views that differ from the orthodox to be voiced in the following interview with Associate Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health at the Open University of Cyprus, Dr Elpidoforos Soteriades, who got his degree in epidemiology at Harvard:
