Does anyone else agree that we need a new permission category apart from "2 - Go to a shop for basics" if all small shops are to be open from tomorrow?

The following report has a bit more detail, and gives information about later stages:

As far as I know, tomorrow will see a degree of relaxing of the totalitarian regime we are now living under. Amongst other things, it seems restaurants, taverns, cafeterias, pizzerias and pubs will be opening ( https://cyprus-mail.com/2020/05/19/coro ... -to-relax/ ) although to subject to heaven knows what restrictions (I couldn't believe my ears when listening to the BBC's today programme this morning when a spokesman for the Waterstones book shops said after they reopen any book that is handled by a visitor to a shop will then be put in quarantine for 72 hours! For heaven's sake we're surrounded by billions of viruses and our bodies are full of them, and it has always been so. We have immune systems that keep us safe and that's why humanity has survived until now. Suddenly we're acting irrationally due to one virus) I believe barbers and hairdressers will be opening and I plan to go and try and a get a haircut so we'll see how that goes. Does anyone know what else is changing? Will we still need big brother's permission every time we dare to step out of our front doors?

No. The texts and curfew are over tomorrow. But I’m sure you know that and it’s tongue-in-cheek.

I understand that Big Brother permission will no longer be needed from tomorrow - I'm really looking forward to that to be honest.

Of course we will still be expected to 'social distance', not the 1m suggested by the WHO or 1½ as elsewhere but 2m - clearly a number pulled out of someone's arse...

I can't see the partial lifting being very successful. A bar in Pissouri has been doing food deliveries and we've treated ourselves once a week. From tomorrow they will be 'open' but only a limited number of tables, everyone 2m apart and the staff wearing masks and gloves... It doesn't sound very appealing TBH...

No, I didn't know that so thanks for the information.

I passed by our local barber's to see if there was any sign of life and they were getting ready for tomorrow and I was able to get an appointment for Monday (earliest slot available), so it seems it may be by appointment only for the time being.

This means I don't have to be carrying ID when I go out, does it?

Tomorrow it begins here in CY… and within 5-10 days we should start seeing the first wave of infections. I’m not looking forward to this… :?

Tim and Grumpy can go out and play in the park holding hands and singing "Ring a Ring o' Roses"...
