Well, where did I hear that before. I believe Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Iran thought that in 1967, before they got their arseholes handed to them on a platter.

If France deems Libyan oilfields important enough, they could just park the Charles de Gaulle a few miles off Sirte, land 100 Rafale’s on standby in southern Italy, place a significant portion of their Legionnaires in Tripoli, and declare and no-go and no-fly zone as they please!

And what are the rest of the clowns going to do about it?

Not even the combined forces of Egypt, Turkey, Greece and CY, can do anything to stop France’s will should they decide to do so.

Even in the fantasmagorical world of Trump, I doubt France (as if they don’t have enough problems at home) will find itself in a shooting war with Turkey, a NATO ally, whilst allied with Russia and the ever less influential Arab countries.

Wasn’t France the driving force to depose Kaddafi few years back? Yes, France has direct interest in the oil and gas in that region which is why they are backing the opposition Haftar indirectly at the moment. France, Egypt, Greece, Russia and USA are not about to allow Turkey anywhere the oil fields in the eastern Libya, just as Turkey is not allowed to the oil fields in Syria and Iraq.

Israel is a known nuclear power of which much they refuse to disclose.
Their entire existence is built on defense, innovation and their intelligence agencies are vast and far reaching.
Definitely 1st division.
