Any good builder recommendations?

Postby Paphitis » Mon Nov 09, 2020 2:37 pm

Need a builder that will work in the Paphos area.

To build 3 houses. No approvals yet. No architectural. Happy to use a Cypriot architect to abide by Cypriot codes.

Want high standards. And the builder will need to work under a supervisor which will be sent from Australia to oversee every aspect of construction and report back.

Looking for recommendations from people like CG, LR, DT, B25 and others who have built before and know what they’re talking about.

At least 2 will be sold. Probably after construction with handover and deeds as well. So looking for builds that will fetch maximum euro. All finishings to be of the highest standards.

Location: in a very prized touristy area in the Paphos district.

Sure YiaLousa.

Please PM me some projects you have completed. Building licence number and references.

We transfer monies as progress payment under a Building Contract. They are HIA contracts in Australia so Cyprus must have an equivalent.

Each progress will be made only after a detailed building inspection by our inspector.

In Australia, we have done many and we have the very highest standards and we expect the same. One of our builds was rated the 3rd best in all of Adelaide in the HIA Building awards.

We don't skimp on costs and our clientele are not your average customer. To give you an idea, we are very big on English Character Builds, and restorations with ornate walls, ceilings, doors. Our carpentry is all solid wood, and use the best trades.

do you think you can deal with that/us?

You would be working with my Koumbaro's Brother who is going to supervise and a qualified builder himself. very fussy he is.

This is also a little test run for us or a bit of a side show.

If it goes well, we will be releasing another 2200 sq m worth of subdivisions in Coral Bay - with sea views. Basically, if it goes well, we will be doing another 4 to 5.

Just to give you an idea of what we are after. We specialise in character builds. So a lot of detail and planning involved and a lot of tender love and care which means high labour.

We are not into building concrete boxes, with aluminium windows. We put a lot of effort in creating wooden windows, solid floor boards, solid doors and ornate ceilings although this may be out of character for Cyprus. Might appeal more to the English tastes. We don’t do tiled floors, marble floors with Parthenon pillars and so forth.

But we will work hard to design something that remains in character to Cyprus. But we are big on carpentry, federation shutters which we will bring from Australia if required.

Ok well thanks for the offer. I would prefer however to deal with a GC builder. Dealing with a Turkish builder is too risky for us I’m afraid. Just for that reason. We are however happy to deal with individual TC tradies if their workmanship is up to scratch. If you know any, they are welcome to tender for certain things. We will have a person there to deal with all that.

If there are any TCs for instance that are licensed in the UK might be of interest if they can work to UK or our standards in Australia. We are not the easiest of customers as we are demanding but we won’t discriminate against people.

A TC is more than welcome to work on this if they are good. But dealing with a Turkish company that operates in the north is something we just can’t do for obvious reasons.

If anyone can suggest some good builders it would be appreciated.

Ta.

It’s good employment for the building trade and the money will go into the Cyprus economy. So good for Cyprus.
