...and i see two sides.

One that fundamentally see Cypriots as Cypriots, and the other split as "Greeks" and "Turks".

...why dismiss "being" Cypriot?

Two states means that the TCs will relinquish all claims to the south, inluding the EEZ of the south.

It also brings up a historic first, a truly independent GC state, totally free to enter into any agreement (defence, cooperation etc) with any nation it choses, and that includes union with any other state.

Tatar realises the implications of the above that is why he mentioned a post separation deal between the two states that he proposes. In other words he wants to play it each way, get an independent state for TCs and a perpetually bound state for the GCs.

And as always we heard what the TC side wants to get, but never what it wants to give in exchange. Like those territorial maps Akkinci submitted that were super confidential and never made public.

If the GC side had any intelligence at all, and any sense of geopolitics it would jump at the chance offered by Tata provided that the territorial issue was suitably settled.

Are there any TCs that believe that if the two state deal comes through there will be a ceremony in which the mainland Turks will hand over all power to the TCs, withdraw their troops, since they will be no longer needed, and just move back to Turkey?

Hands up, don't be shy to show your gullibility.

Ok why are the British army still in the south ????????? The answer to that question is the same answer as why Turkish army is in Cyprus and if you think it’s for any other reason then you are either too narrow minded or you just can’t see the truth

Why don’t anyone object to the British army being stationed in Cyprus ??? Don’t you think this is imperialistic and invasive of ROC

The Brits made sure that land remained as part of the Empire. It does not belong to the RoC.

Indeed, once the narrative was set, "Greek" and "Turk", their position was secured; unjoined, Cypriots are silenced, as adversaries...

...but what can 'we' do?

Such as it is, what Flag do "they" treat as a rag?

...something to think about.
