The news yesterday reaching us was that Zalizmenos had said he is losing 100 soldiers a day. It is of course not an exact figure and the figure quoted is between 100 and 200 a day. That makes it anything from 3,000 to 6,000 a month. He should know by now that fighting on is not going to help him.

It is time to stop and reach a ceasefire agreement as well as talk to the Russian speakers on the east and coast areas and reach a political settlement so he can keep his country as one country. But he can forget about a unitary state. It will have to be a federal structure.

This is the way the killings will stop in Ukraine, and it can happen overnight.
