I find it so frustrating that the UK creates some amazing music with superb musical talent but seems to completely fail at anything half decent when it comes to the Eurovision (with the extremely odd exception).

What is going on there????

I totally agree with you! With so much experience in the music industry UK has failed to send a nice song in the Eurovision song contest in the last few years! What is going on? Lost of interest in ESC or something else!

Its called scratch my back and I'll scratch yours. It is as old a practice as they get. Regarding the Brits, I do not know another nation which is fairer than them. Even the invasion of Iraq gives a good measure of what I am saying. The majority of the people are against it and are quite vocal about it. If Cyprus or Greece were to invade another country then 100% of the people would be behind the invasion, regardless of the ethics. Anyone that dared to question the invasion of Asia Minor by Greece, for example, in 1919, was roasted to death ...

Regarding the 12s points exchanges between Greece and Cyprus It is time to end this coruption what anyone else thinks on this? Time to end the coruption in ESC and lets participate in a Fair ESC one day!

I see this as a Joke every year and irritates me a lot!

END THE CORUPTION IN ESC!!!!

I watch the ESC every year but my interest now has declined for many reasons - Coruption being the number one---

At last michalis5354

A proper answer to my original question.

I am so glad that there is someone who also thinks this is wrong. Cyprus and Greece shouldn't need the extra points from each other if the songs are good. Idealistic but why not!

Someone earlier stated Ireland and UK also give each other top marks - are you kidding!!! Why did the UK get nil points a couple of years ago if this was the case. No - the song was just rubbish and they gave it what it deserved.

I wasn't going to watch it this year because of the daft politics but this forum has made me more interested. After all in what other contest can you get some contestants dressed in flowery kaftans and others in skimpy leather bondage gear? Which one is Cyprus - saucy or flowery?

I have never voted for Greece! Even last year when Paparizou won the contest I did not vote for her. I think I voted for Serbia and Montenegro / or Hungury dont remember exactly whose song were indeed catchy , instrumental and they had a traditional local music. I did not say that the Greek entry was bad either but it was not my taste!

UK has produced the most FAIR marking indeed . I remember Ireland and UK have never exchanged 12 points to the same extent the rest naigbouring countries have done -only in exceptional circumstances- although they share similar cultures. They deserve a big Credit for that!

I think this coruption must come to an end and see a fair competition one day!

the people vote now??? i thought there was a panel that voted. Are the peoples' votes taken into consideration at all? I always found Greece's songs to usually be silly but then again I havent watched in 6 years so they might be getting better. I cannot believe they won last year! Was their song that good?
